fantasy brown granite w/ Sunset cherry cabs : backsplash assistance
Comments (13)Watch out for trying to mix cool grays with warm oak. Small amounts work OK. A gray backsplash would have gone with my countertops - but would have been drab with my warm wood. Warm wood tones and cool grays do not bring out the best in each other which is why the gray is usually paired with white. Gray is a bit overused right now which means it risks being labeled "dated" in the next 10 years though it will always be an important neutral - like cream and beige. Go ahead and try it in wall color that can be easily changed but be careful of using too much in more permanent surfaces. The grays in your countertop read warm which is why it is working with your cabinets. Consider your wall color last as it is the least permanent surface and easy to change....See MoreHELP!!! Comments (40)Alyssa987 - I had Dallas White on my list for a short time because it was a lighter granite but it wasn't one that I loved and swooned over. The granite yards near me don't seem to carry a lot of white granites, so I haven't been able to see ones like White River or Colonial White in person. I read about staining issues with Kashmir White so I immediately took it off my list. It's tough because the different granite yards call the same granite different names....See Moremodernize kitchen with Dark brown granite countertops?

Other threads with people keeping existing cabinets/counters have suggested changing hardware, adding under cabinet lighting (and even overhead lighting), painting cabinets, changing or adding a backsplash, painting walls - but all those suggestions mean nothing without having a picture of the space and a budget to offer suggestions that will fit into....See MoreFantasy brown aka brown fantasy honed leather or polished
