New idea for backsplash, would someone kindly photoshop for me?
Comments (44)Thanks Charlie. Another great mockup! In my next life I will be able to Photoshop! :-) I had been thinking of something like that, only off the counter. I am thinking it will feel crowded if I put much of anything there. Shermann, glad to hear from another paint-only household. I didn't have much trouble with a similar mosaic in my last kitchen, but I may have just been lucky. It was more rustic that the one I'm considering this time. It's really coming down to the balance issue for me...and maybe even more the clutter vs. serene thing. I am starting to think about some serious green (EK Chartreuse or F&B Churlish) which are anything but serene! Could be fun...and way cheaper than tile....See MoreCan I get photoshop help for my backsplash?
Comments (2)Can't help with the photoshop.....but have to say I love the tile you chose. I 'wouldn't' go up and over the window. I think it will draw your eye to the window, and don't think that's what you want. Having tile up there will also make hanging WT's a real pain! If it were my kitchen, I'd trim out the window with wood molding and then have the backsplash butt up to the sides of it....See MorePlease help with my backsplash!
Comments (23)I'm hesitant to jump in here, I've been lurking here since January as I get ready to start on my own kitchen redo. I love your kitchen and when I opened this thread, my first reaction to your question was, go to a deeper paint color. I can see that the contrast might be throwing you off. The light color comes forward, where a deeper tone would make the painted areas recede, letting your beautiful tile take center stage. I like the back splash going to the bottom of the hood. I love your colors and would love to know about your counter. Is it quartz? Nice... You might try a color like BM Pismo Dunes or at least a shade in about that depth. I just did two bedrooms and bath in it. The tile in the bath is a porcelain travertine and a very dark brown like your cabinets looks great with any of the putty colors. You have good light so I think a deeper color would really be pleasing....See MorePlease, Please, Please help me find a backsplash!!
Comments (28)Well I'm a magpie too :) So I have both a mosaic (behind the range) and a subway tile, but I do have to compliment the fact that you went with a blue. I like it with the granite. A neutral would have been safer, and oh so boring :) By the way, we need to use the term DS...oh wait that's taken....(Dear Spouse dear son might get confusing) Or I like "SU" (spousal unit). My DH or SU as the case may be :) was told early in the design process that "I don't know" has a three day window to be turned into "I don't care" if he can't figure out what he wants :) Since I'm the designer...that's a challenge for him heh heh But he's one opinionated SU so normally he comes up with something :) He had definate influance on the backsplash. I was HORRIFIED with the cost, and he decided that it was the "only" one that worked LOL so my inner magpie won LOL...See Moreisabel98
