Help me decide between two hardwood flooring options
Comments (1)Two young children and cats will equal abrasions and dents and it will not take long. the warranties should not be a deciding factor in my opinion. If you are afraid of seeing wear then honestly hardwood will not be a great choice. In an active household, you will see the wear and disruption to the surface and it will be fast no matter what wood you choose. You must accept that thought process as many people get really surprised and think they bought bad wood. Hardwood shows wear and it shows it quickly....See MoreHelp me decide between two TL Washer and Dryers
Comments (15)>These residential fl washers need over an hour to get clothes washed, because of low water usage. Mine takes 45 minutes My Speed Queen can wash 2 full loads in the time it takes most fl washers to complete one cycle. Personally, I care more about efficiency, performance, and gentleness than cycle time, and I'm sure many other people agree with me on that. My front loader takes 45 minutes for a normal soiled cotton load. That's about 1.5 Speed Queen TL loads, not 2. Heavily soiled loads take longer, but they would take longer than 30 in the SQ as well (including soak time) if you want it to do as well as an FL. >No error codes, balancing to spin, mould, or washer clean cycles My FL doesn't give me error codes, grow mold, or make me run clean cycles either. It does balance before spinning, which adds a little bit of time to the cycle, but I'm more than willing to wait those few minutes so that I can wash with 15 gallons of water instead of 50 and get all the other benefits of an FL. >Bendix came out with the first fully automatic washer in the late 30s. A fl washer at that. The USA has always had front loaders, nothing new. We invented them. Why this over hyped craze within the last 20 years or so for shiny plastic planned obsolescence? I don't know what your point is here, but it seems you're trying to say modern FL's are "shiny plastic planned obsolescence". Speed Queen makes an excellent front loader. You wouldn't call that "shiny plastic planned obsolescence" would you?...See Moretrying to decide between two/three wall ovens
Comments (0)I am in the process of remodeling my kitchen. I want the wall oven with the french doors which are made either by Blue Star or American Range. Both companies make the gas oven but American Range also makes an electric one. What are your experiences with these ovens? I want french doors since I am short and they will allow me to get things out of the ovens easier. Also how easy are they to keep clean? I don't see a self cleaning option on the electric range. Is this correct?...See MoreHelp me decide which cabinet to get from these two options pls
Comments (26)So I prefer the second door over the first. Traditional wooden mullions fit with the second door, not the first, in my opinion. If you had mullions with the first door, the interior edges are not routed, so the mullions wouldn't be either, correct, so that would look kind of clunky to me (just straights sticks of wood with no edge detail), I don't know if I'ver ever seen it like that? And I'm wondering if that's why it's not offered. With the second door having the interior routed edge, that's also how your mullion would be, keeping it from looking awkward. I would be leery of stark white, though, just a preference, I know there are many others who love it and can make it look great for their space, I just prefer softer white. From the photos shown, I can't see a difference though. I had a hard time choosing to do mullions or not as well. Ultimately I chose not to. I got wavy glass to add extra interest and I'm pleased with my choice. I would definitely not call the second one fussy if that's your hesitation. Although mullions will make it look more traditional. If you had that second door and plain glass, I would call that maybe transitional if I had to put a label on it, still think it can be simple style depending on whatever else you use....See Moremuskokascp
