Water lily

Another water lily

I love, love, love water lilies. Nicole, I didn't know they survive cold winters!! Mine is from San Juan Capistrano in California..

Jim, I love your red twig dogwood. I saw something similar in Juneau. Do you think it's the same plant??

murraysmom.... Marilyn identified the Nuphar water lily for me. Not ALL water lilies can survive altitude and freezing cold. We also have wild orchids here. Nature is AMAZING! Here's a lake FULL of them.

Lindsey-that looks like an xray (?)

Not exactly an x-ray. CT imaging of my right coronary artery. On the left, it is 99% blocked. The photo on the right is of the same artery after a stent was placed.

I arrived at the ER at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, with chest pain that radiated down my left arm and up into my jaw and ears. An EKG was done and blood was drawn. I hadn't had a heart attack (troponin level wasn't elevated), so they put me through a nuclear stress test. The pain level was at the I-thought-I-was-gonna-die level. I've had that test three times before, and it's always painful when they inject you with the stuff to stress your heart, but this was off-the-charts painful. By 4:00 in the afternoon I was taken into the cath lab and a catheterization was done and a stent placed. I spent Wednesday night in the hospital and was discharged yesterday.

Not my idea of how to have a good time.

Good thing it was caught before you had a heart attack, Lindsey. I've been problem free since my stent placement 10 or so years ago.

You feeling ok?

PK, yes, I'm feeling much better than before the stent! But, I feel really wiped out and a bit overwhelmed. And I am NOT looking forward to the dietary restrictions! I don't add salt to my food, so that's not really going to be a problem, except that there's a lot more sodium in foods than we realize. Sigh...

Oh my gosh! Take care.

Let's see who can guess what this is?

mush.....IS it frost?

ice crystals rising up out of saturated soil

Wow Lindsey! Hope you're feeling better. Don't be surprised if recovery takes longer than you think -- be kind to yourself and take all the time you need. So glad they found it and fixed it!

Thank heavens everything was caught in time!!! What a shock it had to have been.

Sodium is in everything even dried cereal. Best of luck to you Lindsey.

Yes, frost. Also known as needle ice. I've seen it 6" tall here (South Carolina).

Lindsey- get well soon, and take care!

Lindsey, when I was PG with DS 2, sodium was STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. For the last month I lived on matzo crackers w/ unsalted butter, veggies w/ lemon or vinegar, and meat, and salad with homemade dressing. Boring, but it worked.

Wow that was a true blessing you went to the ER in time! Take care of yourself! Rest!
