The first one is a Syngonium (the named cultivar is a mystery to me but its a very nice plant!) This could be from too much or too little water. Just check the soil and when it gets dry, water it. Don't wait until it gets limp to water it too many times. You can use a bamboo skewer or chopstick to stick into the soil every day until you get a good feel for how light the pot needs to be when it's time to water again. You can use this method for both of these plants.

The second one is Dracaena warneckii 'Janet Craig'. Also an easy grower so long as you don't give it too much water (read: water too frequently). You actually want to use a lot of water when you do water until water flows out the bottom of the pot and fill the pot with water a couple times allowing all the water to flow out unabated. You can also tip the pot at a 45 degree angle to let even more excess water out of the pot. I use bowls or measuring cups to suspend the pot at a 45 degree angle and it can drip to its heart's content for as long as I forget it is there.

Should these be set in a sunny window?

The Syngonium may be able to take near a south facing window but I'm just not sure if the Dracaena could. I've never tried to put one there as they'll do pretty good near an east facing window. Both of these plants would do well in a well lit room. If its a North facing window, they'd need to be in the window as close as they could get without touching the glass.

(If one lives in the Southern hemisphere the North and South would be inverse.)

Annette, your plants will appreciate a bright location but no direct sun, even in a window. Your Syngonium is one of the many Allusion hybrids, my guess would be Berry Allusion but hard to be sure from this photo.

As laticauda said, the leaf browning may have been caused by the potting soil being too dry for too long. I can't add more to her good instructions on watering.

The dracaena is slow growing but the syngonium is a vine and could get lanky with time. Just cut each vine back to an appropriate length and they will branch to make the pot more attractive. Those tip cuttings are easy to root in potting soil or water if you want more plants. Water with a water soluble fertilizer once a month during warm weather at 1/4 to 1/2 the strength recommended on the packaging.

Once it warms up a bit I will put the plants on my covered porch. I think they will enjoy the fresh air and hopefully the Georgia humidity. In the meantime I’m going to keep them in my dining room which faces northeast.
