My turn: what to wear to a June wedding?

We are invited to a wedding the second weekend in June.
The dress on the left is lace. I have worn it a few times and actually looks better on as my figure gives it its shape.
The second is a dress I bought a few years back, but have never worn.
The ceremony is at 2:00. Reception at 6:00 in a very nice but typical wedding venue.
Since it's inJune, I wouldn't mind buying something new, and a color. i've always loved black for weddings but I seem to be changing!
Advise and opinions. TiA

Comments (2)I second the vote for something that will allow for the weather. I've attended several weddings in Connecticut, traveling up from Fl. The first one I was not prepared for and had to go out and buy a light coat and sweater. Think dressy layers -- a semi formal suit would work or a nice dress with jacket. You are not quite into full cocktail time, so extra dressy may not be the "thing" as groomsman DH may be able to inquire regarding how fancy the bridesmaids and bridal gown will be; or even what the bride and grooms mothers will wear. Comments (2)It sounds fine to me, but if I were you, I'd describe the outfit to the bride or her mother, or the groom's mother, if you are on the groom's side, and ask if it's a good choice. Comments (41)Thank you ladies! The TS is very comfortable and I do like it the best. Actually the VC was comfortable too. It had those side gathers (which are supposed to do something to flatter you I guess) but just look like uneven fabric to me. Even though I didn't want to wear black, the gold and silver embroidery really is beautiful on the dress. You can't really see it all that well in the photo. Both are figure-skimming without feeling tight. Any size up would just hang loose on me. I know because I've tried that & there is a big difference in sizing up....See More
