Warning - Most of the listing on Ebay (of PS) are not licensed copies, meaning you can not upgrade or register them. Also, some of these pirated copies will work for a few months, then all of a sudden you can't execute them. I purchased a copy almost two years ago for $250. Asked the seller if it was an authentic, registerable copy with a valid serial number and I was told yes (of course I was!!). I received the copy and it looked authentic. As soon as I got it I called Adobe to check out the serial number for legitamacy. I was told it was not in their system as being an authentic copy so therefore I could not register it. I did this twice to ensure they were correct. I contacted the seller and explained my findings. After going back and forth, I finally filed a complaint with PayPal and won. I warned the seller that I would keep the copy if he did not reply with his confirmed return address (twice). He never did so I kept the copy. I was refunded in full from PayPal. I believe the seller got a bundle of copies from another country. While this copy has been running fine for me to this day, I can not register it for future upgrades. I'm a self taught graphic designer, and still learning PS too so I like to update my software every few years. Just a word of warning if Ebay is offering it for less than $550.00, it's more than likely a pirated copy. I learned the hard way and won't buy software from Ebay again. You can purchase through the training program a student version for a fraction of the price - usually $150 or so. Worth checking out.

Good morning squirrel! You guys really helped to clear the fog and now I'm so excited to keep this project going. This weekend I'm off to the paint stores to get samples and poster board.I will then do what Caroleoh and post for you guys to see. Before painting the room, I want to wait for the rug to be delivered so that I can see everything "live" and then we will be on our way! To save money, DH and I are going to do this ourselves so when we get to that point, I am going to ask all you GW'ers to send good vibes our way, cuz we haven't painted anything in years. We always hired out but with DS in college, we are back to grassroots!

I agree to get the bedding and drapes first and then match the paint to them. Vcheethi, even if you say you "are going with white" for the bedding, there are about thirty different shades of white. This can make your paint color look 'off' Are you leaning towards a 'cool' white or a 'warm' white? A 'grayed out' white? Even with an all white monochromatic white one still has to be in a certain range with the whites. And sometimes people say "white" when they are thinking of Ivory or Pearl.

jejvtr: I like the first link you showed, but the second one did not work. You are right the columns look similar. Perhaps you should leave them afterall, they are growing on me. It has a certain delicacy with the arched roof and you may change you mind also once the trim is painted different than the house color. Which is probably another reason my vote is for a non-white base color--to accentuate your lovely trimwork. I'm glad you are looking at other homes similar to yours for inspiration. When we were remodeling last year, I always kept a digital camera in my car and I would snap pics of features/colors/etc of houses I liked--usually while picking up or dropping off my kids from school or sports practices. I would try to drive a bit in the residential areas. Then when we were finalizing paint, I had my paint swatches with me and I would go up to houses which I liked and compare paint swatches. Once you and your DH find an inspiration pic I think this is helpful to narrow down to an actual color. You will always see things we don't, like lighting and how it works from various angles. What does DH think? Still white/red?
