Our kitchen sink is in the peninsula between the kitchen and breakfast area. A year or so ago we switched from a pull out to a pull down faucet. The pull down is much bigger (taller and thicker) than the pull down, so it took a while to get used to it. I still occasionally think "Wow, that's a huge faucet!" but I like it so much better than the pull down that I don't mind.

I'll try to remember to post a picture tonight.

Thanks - would love to see yours. Part of my problem is I have this light fixture over the island that is too low so the faucet almost goes up to the light. I'm having the fixture shortened though so that issue will go away.

I have one and I love it. It replaced a 90's vintage faucet with two handles. My sink area looks cleaner as a result.

When I remodeled my kitchen I put my sink in the island and had a high arc faucet installed. My faucet is approximately 15-1/2" tall. I had no trouble getting used to the size of it. There are usually other things on the counter so the faucet isn't the only thing to focus on. Below are a few pictures so you can see it from different perspectives. (Not shown in the pictures is a paper towel holder that is usually on the counter and about the same height as the faucet).

Well, they certainly are giant. I do like the functionality though so I suppose I can get used to the look. I've had a few pullouts and they just aren't the same. I have a plumber coming to replace my water softener so thought this would be a good time to do the faucets.

Badgergal - what kind of faucet is yours? If you turn the spray on while it's running then turn the water off does it automatically go back to a stream or does it come back on as a spray when you turn the water back on? The one I have at home automatically goes back to stream and I really like that feature - not so much splatter every where. I can't tell how any of them actually work hence the desire to just get another one like I have.

linelle, i have the same one and love it for the same reasons as you... when it first went in, i was like "oh my that's so big", but now don't even "see" it!!

My sink is under a window, but I also balked at some of the extremely tall faucets out there. I settled on the moderately priced and moderately high Delta Leland and am very happy with it.

I have a tall Kohler (same one at both sinks) pull-down.

In case I don't remember to take a picture at home tonight (grin), this is the faucet we have. I really like the way the handle curves into the body. But it is definitely big.

I had a very tall high arc faucet in my last house and I liked it, but after about 7 or 8 years I was tired of it and it started not always docking quite straight. In this house I went for a much lower unit, a Moen Weymouth with separate sprayer which I am surprised to find I seldom need or use. I think in my kitchen the smaller profile just seems better balanced than the bigger ones, and I have been very happy with my choice.

I am a big sprayer and I do love the pull down/out spray vs. the separate one and I do really like the pull down vs. out. I think I will go for it. For the prep sink (which we rarely use and not to prep anything) I'm just going to get one of those swivel sprayers that attaches to the end of the faucet vs. a new faucet. I don't use the sink much because it has no sprayer and that was why I was thinking about a new faucet. However the small attachment will suffice for that small sink.

3katz4me, my faucet is a Grohe Ladylux Cafe. They may have changed the faucet by now (since mine is a now bit over 6 years old) but mine only sprays when you have your finger on the toggle switch. It does not stay on spray if you take your finger off the switch. So when the faucet is on, the stream is always on unless you have your hand/finger on the switch. I think most GWers would not go for the way my faucet operates but it functions fine for me.

I guess I am used to the look. I don't' see them as all that large. One thing to be careful of, the arch can be so large the water sprays out the front of the sink. We are on our second arched faucet in 20 years and the first faucet did not have the overspray issue so there are different arches.

While I'm not known on Houzz for my tastes, this looks fabulous to me:

We have one and I love it. It is a large open space so I don't think it stands out.
