We chose Benjamin Moore's Acadia White for our cabinets. Our cab maker used the paint to make a "conversion varnish" out of it. I don't know if that had any effect on the color, but they are a nice, creamy color. They actually turned out creamier than I wanted...wanted brighter white but people scared me about white so I went with something slightly less bright. They surprised me how creamy they were when they were put in place. However, they are not all that creamy for a cream and if that's the tone you're looking for, it really is quite lovely. It's definitely not too yellow-y looking but is also not a bright white. I think we looked at Linen White too and I think it was significantly more yellow-y. What I really wanted and chickened out of was Sherwin Williams Mayonnaise. It's quite white. Jgarner has it in her awesome kitchen on the finished kitchens site.

@Lori A. Sawaya I really have to thank you. Your questioning why the builder is so strict about only using SW colors motivated me to ask again. I explained that SW has the color-match formulas in their system, nationwide, etc. The home builder salesman I had been dealing with had never had anyone ask to color match & investigated further. I can color match! Also, I did get a SW sample of Behr Silver Drop. I had asked for a quart in a flat finish as that is what the builder will paint with. Miscommunication & I ended up with a jug of Silver Drop in the SW satin sample paint & a can of Silver Drop in a SW (Superpaint) flat finish. Three drywall boards of Silver Drop & 3 different colors. The salesman at SW had told me that the lighter color samples that use Extra White as the base are usually very slightly lighter than the regular paint. I'm going to continue my search & check out BM colors. I so enjoy your posts. We are very lucky that you so generously share your knowledge & expertise.

mark1993 I loved that it was such a versatile color. It never looked too pink, or too gray or yellow. I had it throughout my home in my master bedroom, foyer, formal living room and family room. Once I put it up in one room, my husband and I liked it so much that we wanted it everywhere. It seemed to go with so much, and complemented our dark cherry floors and our tile very well.

Hi Beverly, Here are some more pics I took of the house. The way it is situated on the lot, mostly you see the tall garage from the street. I took another angle so you could see the entryway too. The front door is new, so I haven't stained it yet. I plan to do so after the painting is done. Patricia, thanks for your advice! I am new to the PNW, so it never occurred to me that a white house could look dirty and mildewy, but that does make sense. I like the look of limewashed brick, so did not think it could potentially devalue my property. These points are definitely some things I will need to think about. Thanks for your pic too, the house color of your pic is nicer than my current house color. But I have never been a fan of green houses. Are there other colors that work with reddish brick? My current house color feels very dark and heavy given the constant cloudy days. I would love to achieve a light and airy coastal feeling, if possible. I would love suggestions. My painter got delayed because of rain here, so I have a few more days to decide on colors. thank you!
