From what I can tell, t looks to me like you might only be lighting the top of the top shelf. If you want more light throughout the room and are set on a sconce, you could go with a similar style but in a clear or translucent glass.

Jill, sounds like you’re an artist so you must be creative/ crafty, yes? How about repurposing or up cycling the sconces since you haven’t found a place to use as is? Take both rings off & hang horizontally as part of wall arrangement or above that back door bench? Or use as is in an outdoor protected or covered area with solar candles? A Google search for repurposed wall candle sconces received some interesting results. BTW, I agree with the suggestion of lowering, just a bit, the art on wall with door but I don’t think the art over your bed is too big. The scale balances with headboard size. I don’t dislike the image of morroccan mirror over side table but I wouldn’t do it as detracts from art over bed, will be cluttered when you add lamps, the 2 side tables may be different sized so symmetrical look will be messed up & mostly will be just too cluttered & over decorated. I did like the blue throw over bed to add some color. All these different opinions is what makes things interesting & sparks new ideas!

Well, I am trying to make similar decisions on this myself. I too had come across that it is better to have sink lighting from the side rather than above but have found the layout to be challenging and busy. So, I checked houses for sale with 2500 - 3500 square feet and none of them had side sconces around their mirrors. And only one or two had frames around their bathroom mirrors. Most of them had one large mirror across the sink area with lights over it. A bathroom can be a busy area, so from a minimalist standpoint, no frame. Now a mirror in the Livingroom really needs a frame.

You could trim out the mirror like shown here, attach the sconces on the mirror and try decor on the vanity like shown. that's one way to decorate w/what you have. two mirrors, some type of tile on the wall (or a wallpaper) bring in a tall vase/stems for the middle decor accent. I'd also do a much larger area rug in front of the vanity. I like this one. look at the wood accents on the vanity. you need this w/all of your grya/white for some warmth. the vase/tall stems on a wood vanity tray. the gold sconces on the marble tiled wall behind the vanity. I mocked it up for you. I'd bring in some greenery w/a few hanging plants or orchids. or, bring in a trim carpenter and have him do something like this w/the mirror: or like this w/the sconces on the sides of trimmed out mirrors, nice lights right above taller mirror. I'd do a nice chandelier to reflect back Right now it's just a generic white vanity w/white/gray floor tile. amp up that wall w/peel and stick wallpaper. there are thousands of options (try wayfair or Home depot) At least you'd have something on that wall. or , tile is an option how about tile and some cool mirrors? you could do two taller mirrors, diff lights more ornate type of mirrors, diff llights taller mirrors w/some pendants, and vertical planks
