Photos! What color does my bathroom want to be?
Comments (3)Oh, good. I know the floor looks really busy in my samples. It's going to really mellow out on the floor. I'll still have the red feature strip and there is nothing mellow about that. I just wanted to get the colors accurate for all to see and I have a good camera for close ups. I was thinking I'd like to do a subtle difference for the trim and kind of match the trim to the color of the sink and claw foot tub. I can re-paint but I have a bit of a problem with my painting arm so I'm hoping to get it right and move on to the next room. sigh....See MoreI want my kitchen cabinets painted blue, but painter warns against!
Comments (12)Thank you all for weighing in! I will definitely consult with the Kitchen Cabinet Painting Experts to learn more. To expand a little on what the painter told me, he said that SW does sell a primer that is darker, levels 1-4 I think he said, but according to him that primer isn't as high quality as a primer he can get that Kelly Moore sells. He said that adding color to primer will weaken the primer and it will not last as long or perform as well. I was thinking that if you sand the cabinets all the way back down to the natural wood (is that even possible?) it would be like painting new cabinets. That's another thing I'll ask to the KCP experts... thanks again for all your advice!...See MoreWhat color should I paint my kitchen cabinets?
Comments (12)My trim and ceilings are SW Pure white. I have stained wood lowers and SW Pure white uppers. My walls are a very light gray though so that gives a bit more depth (Drift of Mist). In your case I would probably use SW alabaster on the cabinets as well unless you want the cabinets to look WHITE and the walls and trim to look creamy/slightly yellow. Personally I don't think I'd like the contrast....See MoreWhat color should I paint my wainscoting with green kitchen cabinets?
Comments (1)I would do the waincoting in light (whitish) color to match the rest of the door trim and baseboards and that will coordinate well with the green. Maybe the wall could be a shade darker, or lighter, then the wainscot and trim? Add a beautiful painting on the wall and some potted plants around the room to pick up the basil green cabinets. It will look great!...See More3rdhds
