Please Help with Master Bath Reconfigurations
Comments (28)Here's another idea. Son's room (he seems too old for boy's room) is now in front...with his own bath. This would be great location for future guest room. Since he has his own bath....I gave the girls window seats and hutches for books, display, etc. Their bathroom is slightly bigger (I think) and should have a larger sink/vanity area. I redrew that space a lot! LOL The laundry is a bit smaller, but easier to access. Light from other spaces should make this a bit sunnier and I added a few examples after the plan. Also...have you considered putting in a stackable washer/dryer in your closet? Maybe even an extra linen cabinet? There's room in this plan :) Washer and dryer in built-in cabinets...goes away when not needed and just looks like pretty storage! And....maybe washer/dryer in your closet?...See MoreHelp Needed Reconfiguring Pantry/Office Space
Comments (14)The only thing I would sit there to do is write out bills, file, and shred. I removed the desk area from the kitchen because it became a landing spot for too much stuff. I usually sit at the kitchen table to write bills, but I'm not gonna shred or file there, so I'd rather it be in one place. I won't be there for very long. Hopefully. I guess I need to put a pretty picture hanging there to look at just in case! I rarely ever print anything, so the printer is at my son's desk for his school work. I'll keep the lap top in the pantry/office, and try to persuade DH to return it there if he's out and about with it. Good luck, I know. I prefer to have a chair there not only to file and shred with my bad back, but also to have a place to sit and take off wet boots/shoes. This photo was my inspiration, but they have more space at 6 ft wide. Mine is only 47" wide for the table/desk area including the depth of the pantries that are 15". So I'm only gonna have 32" for desk area, but the counter will have a niche area 15" deep running into corner next to pantries. The counter will be 47"....See MoreHelp Reconfiguring First Floor
Comments (1)IMO the only walk in pantries that work are butler's pantries and they need to go from kitchen to DR not into some weird space left over I would not want to have fabric and food , dirty dishes etc in the same space . I assume you do not want friends in the kitchen because that is not a friendly space at all....See MorePlease help reconfigure Kitchen Island shape/size
Comments (15)Here's some quick sketches of layouts to consider. OPTION 1: Straigten out island & extend it to end with current cabinets & line it up to end of stove wall. Get a square table or use the one you have & center (in yellow) it to island. Get stools that can be pushed all the way under when not in use. Or make the isalnd just a pre island with storage on back side no seating. Then put a tall table or narrow piece of furniture center under windows.(in orange) Photo examples for inspiration of table island combo. _____________________ OPTION 2 : It looks as the old plan you posted already had planned for basee cabinets. But it was an option admitted. So, extend base cabinets. Then enlarge island & line up to end of stove wall to get more spacing for chairs & in front of stairs....See MoreUser
