I wouldn't draw any attention to the AC wall with a wall treatment. Can you put the sofa where the white console is, the loveseat under the AC and the TV on the wall with the door?

What a cool place! What are the dimensions of the room? I'm inclined to say I wouldn't block the door, but might put a chair, ottoman, and reading light near the corner with the narrow window instead.

That nook would be a nice spot for a vertical book case all the way to the ceiling....an accent color, pale tint on this wall, taken from the wall art in a paler shade would be a possibility.....

Could you place the loveseat parallel to the couch? Then put the two chairs across from the tv?

I would not place any more art on that wall.

I think I'd go for a glass coffee table over an area rug to really define the seating area. Instead of two chairs facing the three seater, I'd opt for a longish upholstered bench. The bench would serve as seating to relate to the sofas and to the deck area when the doors are open. Also, it won't intfringe on your sight lines like chairs would.

As benjesbride noted, treating the TV wall will likely draw attention to the AC unit. I think you just have to ignore it - like we do with other necessary and functional items such as cold air return vents, thermostats and light switches.

You have a really nice room! At some point in the future, perhaps think about hardwoods to replace the carpet. If you match the stain of the deck, it would be a lovely look - blurring inside with out.

I don't think any decor is called for above the side table between the sofas. However, I might consider a table lamp with more "presence".

No one wants to sit on an ottoman or bench. Go with the two chairs idea. Just don't make them too big. The chairs will balance the room. Bring some of the color from the art over to the chair side.

Natalie, those chairs are from Crate & Barrel, which I'm guessing you don't have. But it looks like there are lots of other options in NZ. I noted some above.

I'd go neutral on the chairs: ivory, gray, tan. Then use the colors in your art for accents. A bit of that coral splashed around will add just enough spark.

And you could put a tripod lamp on the left and plant on the right, depending on the massing of the plant. I put the monstera on the left in front of the window because it's wide and helps to balance the width of the TV console. I'd be more inclined to put a wide plant on the left and the lamp on the right for balance.

I haven't read all the comments, but since you enjoy looking outside from the sofa, I don't know that I would put chairs in front of the patio door. I'd probably just do an armchair and ottoman in the corner.

Have you tried the sofa facing the TV wall with the loveseat facing the patio? You may not have enough space, but I thought it might balance the room and improve flow if you can walk around both sides of the sofa. Maybe put a sofa table behind the sofa for a lamp or for a drop zone as you come in the door.

Consider putting a corner cabinet to the right of your tv. Pick one with solid bottom doors (for things you don't want to display) and glass front doors above.

Having a curio cabinet for displaying family photos is preferable to hanging them on the living room wall and you can also display family treasures, moving the items you want to be seen close to the front glass door and other items behind it -- unlike photographs hanging on the wall, displaying them this way makes it easy to change what is seen front and center (and what is not given a prominent place) according to your mood and/or the season.
