fireplace and TV - side by side
Comments (20)Sorry this took so long but I do have the pictures now. As I had said, we have done a stone fireplace with cabinetry on both sides. On the right will be our 40" flat screen with a shelf that will slide out and the doors can be closed or open, but they will slide back so they won't be in the way. This is just the boxes at this time. There will be white trim, mantel and the finished cabinets with bookcase on both sides. Now the problem, I don't know how to post on this site. I have shutterfly so I can put the pictures there. If anyone wants to tell me how to post on here and I can understand it GREAT, otherwise if you want to send me your email address I can send pictures. Let me know, Susan...See MoreUnbalanced living room , awkward window
Comments (9)You need a lower piece of furniture under the TV, and it should be 25% wider than the TV's width. Consider unblocking the window so you can get all the light possible. Place the 3-seat sofa with its back to the camera and the TV right of your window. A tall piece of casegoods like a bookcase or secretary can to it the TV's place. Place the coffee table 18" or less from the sofa....See MoreWhich wall should I put the tv on?

Comments (24)Thank you to everyone giving your opinions. This was a diy project and yes there was a mistake made by me. I was looking for help to solve the problem in a cost effective way. I am a perfectionist so I can appreciate the expert opinions of “doing it right”. I just was trying to prevent a costly mistake from being more costly to solve. There is much food for thought here and some comments that have left me feeling very stupid for asking. But nevertheless I put the question out there and appreciate getting input. Thanks...See Morenataliemorris
