Can someone talk to me about pulls and knobs?
Comments (17)I also wanted one pull to a drawer and found that the only pulls I liked, that seemed really well made, were at Restoration Hardware. I have a store local to me and the customer service was fantastic! They were short some of my hardware and called other area stores and had the shortfalls shipped to me for free, which was great b/c online they were backordered for a few weeks! They also will take anything back as a return - opened or not. Very very customer oriented. The knobs and pulls I got felt great to my hand, but some they sold didn't and I was happy to have been able to touch them before making my decision. Hopefully you will have a local retailer where you can touch what you are considering before deciding. Otherwise, buy one as a sample and check it out before buying them all. I also found that I can't find an appliance pull to match my style perfectly - sadly RH doesn't seem to do refrigerator pulls. So, I'm still mulling that one over. I did go with all satin nickel, which matches my faucets (well, they're stainless steel, but close enough). I think it's most important that the pulls/knobs match the hinges (ok, yours might not be exposed - mine are). That's my 2 cents. Have fun! (OH - and be sure to tell your installer that you will have a level out to check the placement of your knobs/pulls on the cabinets! Man, you'd think putting them on level would be a no-brainer!)...See Moretalk to me about laminate -- major budget-induced rollback
Comments (44)You can go to the Wilsonart web page, pick out samples you like, and they will mail them to you free. These samples are larger than the chips they have in the stores. There are many beautiful options. I just put the Wilsonart HD in a powder room, laundry room folding table and built in desk top all matching as it is an ensuite. I think you will like it, I am going to choose another color soon, for a bathroom counter top. We recently remmodeled our kitchen, we paid $69. per linear foot for our Cambria counter tops. Extremely expensive because we have a large kitchen and island area. It is very nice, very pretty, but sometimes I wish I had saved that money and used the wilsonart. Look at the HD samples....See MoreTalk to me about corner sinks - are they ever OK?
Comments (19)We were talking about this thread in another and I didn't realize cwalen had responded again! Sorry! lyfia - That's part of what the 12" between sink and DW is for. You step just a bit in front of that 12" drawer stack so you can pull the trash out, scrap, rinse, load. (I just tried it in my corner sink area to be sure!) cwalen - I think that placement is fine. Or, you could switch it with the cab next to it so it's a little closer to the range (in case one person is also prepping near the range - a little easier for them to get to). If you did that then you won't need to step to the side for the clearance during cleanup. But as I mentioned - I just tested out the side step and it was pretty insignificant! :)...See MoreLets Talk About Bleach Baby, Lets Talk About You And ...
Comments (64)Mich, I've seen that in the stores and wondered about it. Some detergents don't have enzymes, I stear clear most of the time, however not every load is tragic, so not every load needs enzymes. If there's not a bunch of stains and the clothes just have the normal dust and body oils, that bottle of All probably does a nice job on darks and colors. I'm a powder fan but lately I've been enjoying some liquids, lol. Actually I have found liquids without enzymes make my sheets feel very smooth, I've been using a new boutique one I've run across, I'm not sure yet though if its the lack of enzymes or because its a liquid, but they do feel better I'll send a pic of it in a sec....See MoreUser
