Flooring Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Bathroom Tile Advice w/ White Midpoint Shower Tile?

I'm planning on remodeling my bathroom soon, but I haven't made any big choices, largely because I'm getting hung up on the big picture details.

The one thing I do know is that I'd like to use this white midpoint tile for the walls of my shower (https://www.missionstonetile.com/The-Essentials-MidPoint-Tile-Whisper-White-p/astmppwg6x3.htm). I'll have a shower/bath combo, so no shower floors to worry about.

I plan to paint the walls a darker blue, and I want a white vanity with a white countertop.

I just don't know what floor tile to use.

I'm also planning on having a shower niche or two, but I'm not sure what tile would look nice in those.

Any advice is greatly appreciated while I'm in the early planning stages of my remodel!

Very pretty tile. I suggest you x-post this to the Home Decorating forum since the question goes beyond flooring. Include photos of the room, and if you plan to change locations of fixtures, a sketch of the floor plan would be helpful.

since everything is so white and you have a bit or a moroccan type of shower tile,

why not try a cement tile or cement look-alike tile, in the blues/whites, for the floor?

porcelain. Electra in Neptune. 13"

8x8 ceramic from tilebar. bella moma.

CleTile. these are the cement. you could do the smaller 2x2 glazed terra cotta in the niche.

other colors and shapes that they have.

there's so many cool ideas you could do

Monica, please tell your husband I am a great fan of his work. His tiling looks fantastic - those corners are just perfect! He's obviously got a great deal of skill and talent. (Try not to swell his head *too* much... ;-)) Wow, now I've got to decide whether to use bullnose at the corners or just miter them... (The bullnose is expensive, but I bet the miter labor is too.)

If trim in MBr doesn't work, try White Dove. Without seeing the tile in person I can't advise as to whether it will work. I like to prime and paint a piece of trim (about 12" or so) so I can get a good idea of the color and carry it around with me. White Dove is a no, go with a white that doesn't have obvious tones jumping out at you (yellow, pink) when you compare the tile and paint side by side. Again, working up a trim sample is always better than choosing off the paint chip. Try Cotton Balls (OC 122), Cloud White (OC-130), or Decorators White

Home Depot is the only place within two hours that sells the pre-fab, and the colors are horrible. I need three bathroom countertops, and the largest is 52". I should be able to find remnants, but I can't even find fabricators who have remnants. Nobody has a website and the fabricators don't advertise, at all. I found six places in Tulsa, but none of them have quartzite remnants. I can only find stone suppliers. I will make a list of suppliers this weekend, and call them on Monday. Maybe they have a list of fabricators near me. Even Google maps didn't have anyone listed near me. They didn't have the two fabricators that are a half hour away from me. What is your opinion on glossy vs honed in a bathroom. My kitchen has leathered Sea Pearl quartzite, and I love it. I prefer matte colors usually, but I doubt I would like leathered bathroom countertops.

One thing you might try-- you can get fancy without having to spend big dollars for custom tile. Might cost you a little more for installation, but not nearly as much as some of the pricier custom lines. You've got white tile going in the shower, with dark blue painted walls and a white vanity. Why not continue the nautical theme, and do a grey floor? Do it diagonal in the center, with a blue accent stripe, and then a straight border, somewhere between 3-6", depending on how big your bathroom is?
