Comments (7)Gorgeous house, and it's getting the quality of work it deserves. Is the 117 pine or another wood? If it was in such good shape, are you thinking the vinyl was applied only for its ease of maintenance? Do you think your parents would adopt me? Cheers and congratulations....See MoreExterior Painting in progress - might need to change sheen
Comments (3)I live in the historic district of my small city and walk around almost every day. As you can imagine, there are lots of imperfections in wood that is 100+ years old, but if the paint is solid and not peeling or missing, you don't pay much attention to the imperfections. You are noticing them now, but when the job is done, they aren't going to stand out as much as they do now. Just my opinion....See MoreProgress pics....exterior of house
Comments (6)You might try doing the trim around the garage doors in the trim color for a little more detail and pop there. Staining the drive area darker would also ground the house more, possibly satisfying the garage door color you feel is needed (though probably something you might not want to undertake). Just throwing it out there. A black lantern to the left of the front door would add some punch. Maybe there's one to the right. I can't really picture a rust door. Looking forward to see how the one you've chosen turns out. I really like the siding color you've done. Very pretty. It looks so much better than the original light gray. It looks very cohesive now. Great job!...See MoreThings are in progress
Comments (22)We looked into the moat, but the moat required a 20 ft setback on all sides, and then another 10 feet inside the moat. That just wasn't feasible on our lot. ARG tried to make it work for us, but he said he could only do it if we were willing to go to 2 or 3 stories and so we abandoned the moat dream. I've spent today baking so it's really gotten be thinking about my desired kitchen design. (30 dozen in the freezer, and two big pans of fudge in the fridge cooling). My kitchen needs to support this kind of day! And gosh--i wish I had a prep sink!...See Moremocxr
