Need help arranging furniture in living room with fireplace
Comments (1)Can you "float" your coach in the room, facing the patio doors, maybe with a sofa table behind it? You could then put the TV on the wall across from the fireplace, maybe a chair in the corner next to the fireplace. That might not be optimal TV viewing from the couch, however. But the arrangement doesn't look great where the TV is now....See MoreSmall living room with front door-need furniture arrangement help!
Comments (13)I wouldn't do that fireplace surround. It's jus not a good look w/the type room/decor you have. try it elsewhere. try craigslist and similar sources for rugs, tables, shelving. as for the room layout, for the wall that's next to the doorway, and to the right of window (pic #3 up top) what if you did some cool shelving or book cases? I'd also look into doing some sort of shade or blind instead of those bulky drapes. This is a simple layout you could copy. a larger sofa w/a chaise would work for that room better than your two sofas. if doing a tv, try a shallow console and mount the tv to the wall. you can do a 'coffee table' by utilizing an ottoman or something similar. this type of sofa against the large windows would work out better. notice the blinds, nice contrasting paint color on the walls, colorful rug, potted plants. same layout. Imagine your windows are behind the sofa. shallow shorter shelving on the opposing wall is great for kids toys and books. mount tv. fabric ottoman for coffee table. neutral rug....See MoreNeed help arranging the living room
Comments (2)I hate TV in my LR and have never had one for the last 40yrs. So I have no issue with no TV I would however face the furniture toward the window since that is really the focal point in the space Float the sofa facing the window leaving the walkway behind it on the east wall have a nice long console table with some decor or a large piece of art above .Put the choirs on either side of the sofa facing each other and a nice large square coffee table. Lighting is of course a real need and once you have the furniture in you can figure where and what you need. I never like sectionals for actual conversation so not to that . My LR is 2 x that size so I do have 2 sofas and 4 chairs but for a nice conversation plan a sofa and 2 chairs are my go to. in a space your size....See MoreNeed help with furniture arrangement for awkward living room
Comments (3)Put bookshelf on stairway wall. Put tv in middle of long wall. Put cat tree in corner where bookcase is now. Float couches facing each other - one with back to window. Put couches close enough so you can have an intimate conversation. Typical error in design is placing couches to far apart to have a conversation....See Morecouponmail79
