I have skin tags. I've read some place that people prone to diabetes tend to get them. Not a fun thought. Diabetes does run in my family.

I just checked my rubbing alcohol. It's 50%. Do you think that would work at all.....maybe take longer? I have on at my waist that I wouldn't mind getting rid of. It's not bothersome, it's just there.

I had many on the neck as well, I used wart remover a couple of times and same thing. My brother in law had them as well, he paid big money for laser to remove them.

Well how timely! I have had one bugging the crap out of me since just recently my bra has been rubbing it. (Don't know why it just started bothering me - maybe my bra needs throwing away.)

Anyway, I read online that rubbing pure coconut oil on it would make it go away. I've been doing that 3 days and it hasn't bothered me at all today.

I am interested to hear what other results will be. I had no idea. I had tried a few things in the past. Finger nail polish the clear. The wart remover, none worked.

Jasdip I don't know what if anything the strength has to do with it. So sure try what you have.

Anyone wishing to use IPA on the skin should do a bit of research to determine if it's safe for you. IPA is readily absorbed into the body via the skin as well as inhalation of fumes. Some individuals may be sensitive to even small exposures.

For example, certain medications can exacerbate the effects of IPA once absorbed into our systems.

This is just an FYI note, by the way; the use of rubbing alcohol is not without risks. Perhaps an alternative method of administering it would be with a Q-tip applied directly to the skin tag. I might try it on my husband!

I got some bands that seemed to work in shriveling the smaller ones. But one was too big. The doctor removed all of them. He claimed the band irritated the skin too much. The day of their removal I was diagnosed with diabetes.

It might help to discover what causes skin tags in the first place. At one time, I would get numerous skin tags in my arm pits. It may have my deodorant. I had been using a deodorant with an antiperspirant. After I switched to a plain deodorant without antiperspirant, I greatly reduced the appearance of skin tags. I also found that a large majority of deodorants on store shelves contain antiperspirant . I had to search to find plain deodorant. Apparently, the antiperspirant was clogging and irritating my pores.

Mine are only around my neck area. I don't wear any type of scent or anything else there. I no longer wear necklaces because they would get caught in the skin tags. I had them before I was diagnosed with diabetes but not before I was diagnosed with thyroid disease.

I asked my sister if she had any, she doesn't. I don't remember my mom or dad having them. My surgeon that removed mine while doing a surgery, said that she removes them but always warns they will probably return. I wonder if they are related to warts and could be a type of virus?

My friend got rid of hers with Tea Tree Oil which her Dr suggested. Some people are allergic to TTO so it is good to know of other remedies.

I am very allergic to tea tree oil. I found out the hard way when I used shampoo with tto in it and my scalp was on fire and I had blisters all over. Ouch.

Exactly, even the natural supposed safe remedies can have a negative result.

Thank you! I bought an expensive bottle of "stuff" that didn't work for DH. Going to give this a try.

I bought mine at CVS for less than 5.00 I put it on Sunday afternoon and then I was awake after midnight on Monday morning and I decided to do it again. When I was rubbing it in I felt the tags coming off. Yes they were small but I could not believe how fast this worked. I felt like I had hundreds of them. I also am allergic to tea tree oil. I remember my sister who passed away at 40 had them. She said she was letting her hair grow longer to try to cover them up.

Awesome! Thanks I didn't know if it worked for anyone else. I have noticed if I don't keep up with the alcohol they start to come back but that's not surprising since they come back even after surgical removal.

So, I have a skin tag on the lower lid of my right eye. I'm thinking alcohol there wouldn't be a good idea! :(

I just snip mine off with a very sharp small pointed scissors, never had them come back. This is interesting though, may have to try it. thanks

No I don't think I would put alcohol on the eye area lol.

Ouch you cut them off yourself? Don't they bleed like crazy?

I had my surgeon remove all of them while I was under for removal of a lump in my breast. She warned me that they usually always come back. It took them a couple of years.

Just a little bleeding but really minimal. If it is quick snip, not painful at all. I have done it for many years.
