WANTED: Enough people for a Montreal area plant swap?
Comments (32)Unfortunately Sarah has had to drop out due to some unavoidable problems - she really wanted to come but it just isn't likely to be able to happen :-( I can still get to the mountain by taking the bus up, but I can't take as much up with me that way. Here's a thought if it's going to be just the three of us (Lakshmi, Chi and myself) - I could host a short little tea/lunch/snack thing and we could meet at my place (and my embarrassingly small garden!). I know Chi knows how to find me, and I assume it's as easy for him to get to my place as to the mountain. Lakshmi - If you only have time to zip in and out, it might still be easier for you to come by my place - there is a back alley with very little traffic and you can stop and load up on Chi's/my plants and drop off yours. That way you can have some of everything of mine that you want - I won't be limited by what I can carry (I even have some Monarda I can divide for you and I have some extra chives). So if this is good with you, I'll send you my address and directions on how to get here. If it isn't good, we'll go back to Plan A (the mountain). Those rose cuttings would be great and if 'Overdam' is your grass name, then it's not what I have and I'd like to try it. Your Shasta Daisies and Dahlias are interesting too. And if you're still offering that peony, I'll go out tomorrow and see what I have that's interesting and run it by you to see if you want it and think it's worth it. Chi - everything you wanted you can have - the Clematis, Belamcanda, and Iris pseudacorus. Was there anything else? I would like some of your Honeysuckle and Clematis cuttings. Comments (6)Another two cents, I don't think the 'Brug' forum is for US members only, plenty of Canadians post over there. It is for all brug lovers and growers. Trades, on the other hand, have specific forums for different countries. But....if you are looking for a specific plant, then I don't see why you should have to limit where you post, and vice versa (offering a specific plant). Chances are there are more than a few people from your neck of the woods posting on that particular forum and you can make some good trades and good friends at the same time. That being said, I like Ruth Ann's idea, and will be doing something similiar in a couple weeks. Right now, my brugs are still going out during the day, and coming in most nights, cause they are still full of flowers and buds. But once the cold really hits, they will be cut back drastically and I will have more cuttings than space. So anyone in the Ottawa/Gatineau area who may be interested, please email me....See MoreISO good Philly-area granite fabricator & bianco antico-like slab
Comments (6)I live in Southern Chester County. I used Stone Masters in Kennett Square. They did fabulous work. (I have BA) In fact I was in there yesterday with a friend looking for her counters. Their prices might not be the cheapest around, but I feel you really are paying for the craftsmanship and you get it from them. Let me know if you do go, I'll tell you whom to ask for. Here is a link that might be useful: Stone Masters...See MoreLunch in the Philly area 3/22 and 3/29
Comments (5)Darn, sorry I missed this. It sounds like fun! I might have been able to make today work had I seen it sooner-- unfortunately, I have obligations next week. Enjoy the lunch next week.. and I hope today was fun!...See Moresushipup1
