With great respect, I think GW has made it perfectly clear, to me anyways, that they want Canadians to use this forum for trading seeds and plants, exclusively. We should respect their wishes.

There could be legal problems for GW if Canadian plant parts are offered on a US forum.

Their guidelines state:
"All exchanges are restricted to users from a particular country, region or state. If it isn't indicated otherwise, the exchange is restricted to residents of the U.S."

Jimmy Jo ... the brugs are offered only to Canadians. Ruth Ann resides in Burlington Ontario CANADA NOT the US. Brugs are very hard to find in Ontario .. and expensive .. this is a free offer to all Brug lovers in CANADA.
And to quote your GW quote "If it isnt indicated otherwise" Ruth Ann has indicated otherwise ... its for Ontario residents only.

The brugmasia forum is a U.S. forum. GW is the one who is "restricting it to U.S. residents only". I just think we should respect GW's wishes and only post Canadian trades on the "Canadian Exchange Forum". That's why they gave it to us.

Why else would GW make a special forum for Canadians to exchange if they didn't mind us posting trades on their U.S. forums? They don't want us posting our Canadian trades on their U.S. forums.

If you don't think so, Ask GW.

As it works, if a canadian can't post on a forum board it is restricted to US gardenweb members although emails can still be sent if an email address is offered. And vice versa for US members on Canadian resticted boards.

However, if you find you can post, the board is open to both countries. Obviously, the illegal sending of live plants (from either above ground or below ie. bulbs, corms, tubers, root balls, etc) must be understood as not possible and so those restrictions are usually made clear by those posting such offers. There are always people who don't know this and so kindly let them know should they post a cross border offering other than seeds.

Another two cents, I don't think the 'Brug' forum is for US members only, plenty of Canadians post over there. It is for all brug lovers and growers. Trades, on the other hand, have specific forums for different countries. But....if you are looking for a specific plant, then I don't see why you should have to limit where you post, and vice versa (offering a specific plant). Chances are there are more than a few people from your neck of the woods posting on that particular forum and you can make some good trades and good friends at the same time. That being said, I like Ruth Ann's idea, and will be doing something similiar in a couple weeks. Right now, my brugs are still going out during the day, and coming in most nights, cause they are still full of flowers and buds. But once the cold really hits, they will be cut back drastically and I will have more cuttings than space. So anyone in the Ottawa/Gatineau area who may be interested, please email me.

Hello all. I got my first Brugmansia this year and olanted it too close to a walnut. Of course you know what happened. After it shrivelled and I moved it, two days later it came back with a vengence. I hads it in the ground, by the way. It grew huge in that latter part of the summer and just before frost hit, it produced numerous buds. Just before frost got it, I dug it up again and put it into a pot and into a warm sunlight room. NOW it is blooming like man and I cannot believe it's beauty. I was wondering if anyone wanted to trade or donate some pollen so I could give pollination a whirl. Thanks in advace to any takers.
