You can find slightly used stoves on craigslist for a few hundred, in much better shape than what you have. Even Lowes has super deals for a few hundred. heck, open an account and get fee financing for 18 months!
is it just you? do you really need a DW? I'd lose that for some more storage space. I'd also get a deeper sink. hate shallow sinks. you have a killer window. I'd tile that entire space.
paint the cabinets,(white, black) get new hardware and find some other countertop. you didn't give a budget, so I have no idea what you can afford. Tile that one wall and put in some open shelving. do cheap subway tile if you can't afford anything else. industrial style shelving can be done yourself for $50. look on Pinterest for ideas and how to's.
counters, check remnants at local stone yards, craigslist or try the Pre-Fabricated quartz countertops. this is near my stone yard, and is one of 50 different types of pre-fabs. cost? about 400 bucks. hire someone to cut and install for another 800 or so.
if that's too much, look for a butcher block at Floor and Decor or Ikea.
paint your bottoms black and the uppers white. you have good lighting in there

Without knowing very much about your balcony (exposure/sun/shade, measurements, etc.) or the types of plants you would like to grow, I can tell you two basics: 1. get a good potting mix. 2. get the right size pots for what you want to grow Over in the Container Gardening forum, search for "tapla" and you should be able to find Al's recipe for a good potting mix. If you don't want to go that route, then just buy something like ProMix, Fafard or Miracle-Gro. I'm going to guess that with your balcony only 10 ft. off the ground, you won't have downstairs neighbors? In that case, you won't have to worry about watering them when you water your plants. Give us a little more info, and we should be able to help you better. There will be others along to share their experiences with you. Comments (1)We have a condo up north and we painted the LR Kilim Beige, the accent wall with fireplace Nomadic Desert and the Kitchen Latte. White cabinets, white trim, black countertops. Looks perfect to us. Are the walls in poor condition? If not, you don't need primer. It needs to be clean and dull and finished with two coats of quality paint. Use Dirtex to clean it and dull it. UNLESS the walls were painted with Builder's Flat. Then I recommend a coat of GARDZ, followed by two coats of quality paint. Unless you like the bling created by semi gloss, satin will perform just as well, but that's a personal choice. Comments (14)Condo's are extremely difficult, because if the design of the place doesn't account for HVAC needs you are stuck with what you got. All you can do is go to the condo association and get approved to make changes to exterior. If there is no attic space for ducting, your only real option would be mini split AC. The mini split will have an outdoor condenser and a line set run from that unit to the indoor head that hangs on the wall or if possible a cassette style that is mounted in the ceiling (if there's enough room). The line set of the mini split can be placed behind decorative molding to hide it. This will increase the cost of the job... but the bigger task will be to get it approved by the condo association, not to mention the outdoor condenser that has to sit outside on a slab. The only other option is a window unit, but based on the pictures you show I doubt the window unit will work well. Sizing is important. So no matter what is allowed the sizing of the system in terms of capacity will have to be determined to cool this space properly. You can't change it from room to room and not expect it to look like a circus. You can still have lots of color in your house with white walls. Don't paint yourself into a box....See MoreSunny Fields

6 years agoSave up and redo. Use apartment sized appliances like I did in this galley kitchen remodel. The scale was much better for the space.
