Jade Plant Dying? Or Just Normal?
Comments (30)All perlite for root rebuild... interesting. If your waiting for grit mix suggest you could also sift some construction sand ( bagged at Home Depot type stores) sizes should be sifted 1/8 - 1/4 inch to be used Also Agway has an item called dry stall and other items that can be used for a good succulent plant mix Zone 5 update for others Cooler temps at night lower 50's - 40's and mid 70's by day... also coloring leaves changing brighter colors soon ....... keeping inside is a good idea until later next spring. It still looks thirsty to me, I would probably continue with the each five day double drink as Josh mentioned but more experienced I would also lean toward every third day once or twice. I wouldn't let it sit in a pool of water in the catch tray. Top leaves are looking better if me I'd trim the bottom weaker three that are most visual in pic. New growth will be smaller and slow until Z-5's next season when the newer JADE fatten up ones grow next late May June July time frame if good sunlight season and outside grown....See MoreJade (crassula humels sunset) thin & shrivelled leaves
Comments (15)Hi! Thank you Gill and Andy. I had a b&q trip and made the mix you suggested Gill. The roots looked ok to me (white and dry) and they'd grown a lot since I last re-potted it - so I think that's positive. If it would be better out of the heat during our 'heat wave' (hottest day in 9years!? Apparently) I'll pop it in one of the other rooms for a while. I did read the link you sent Andy, very interesting and informative. I admit I never even thought about air availability in the soil! Bought a good quality potting mix instead of the cactus mix. Thanks again. I'll let you know if it's improved in a week or so! *fingers crossed*...See MoreHelp! My jellybean plant's leaves are shrivelling
Comments (6)These are the before and after pictures. What species is this? And why is it dying? I water it a little occasionally as advised. It is placed on the balcony on higher ground as I live in a flat so I'm pretty sure it gets enough sunlight too....See MorePlease help me with My Dying shriveled Panda Plant! (๑ १д१)
Comments (7)@rina_Ontario,Canada 5a This is what my plant should look like and had looked like a while ago. I don't think I over watered/ under watered it multiple times because I got one of those plant moisture meters to know when to water it. I put fertilizer in both re potted plants as kind of a good luck thing, I don't even know if it does anything but I though it couldn't hurt. I only put a very small amount. I did think that the soil might have been to "Normal looking" in the sense that it was like normal potting soil but I got this bag exactly and it's what i have used ever since I got them. I had previously put in pebbles just to help the soil drain even better (as well as some sand the first time but that was to much to deal with) the pebbles are like smaller than my thumbnail. I tried putting the light above the plants but because this is the only lamp I have it has this clip so that you can attach it to a surface and I have to use it because the bulb sticks out so I can't leave it facing downward on the bulb. Luckily there are no bugs! I think because of the quality of the picture it looks like the darker bits at the end of the leaves are bugs but there not. In the picture I had just desperately flung water droplets onto the plant so that it could get some water back into it so that's why there is dark spots in the soil. Unfortunately the leaves and stem are getting dryer and dryer..... I was hoping that they would start to perk up or at least only part of the stem would dry up and fall off but everything seems very hard and dry. D:...See MoreLilika(7A)
