It'll be fine. Our kitchen has all different handles, and no one notices, including us. As Weissman said, most of us on this forum mix brands in order to get "best in show". It's better to find the best appliance than to find an appliance that you may not like, except that it has a matching handle. Many of us mix finishes in addition to the handles. I've seen some showstopping kitchens on the Kitchens Forum, where there might be white range with a stainless hood, or black fridge with stainless range, etc. And, as you've discovered, handles can be different even within the same brand. Sometimes when I see new-construction home or condo, with a matching suite of appliances, all I think is "hmm, developer must have gotten a deal on a bulk purchase of appliances". I think the kitchens with different appliances look like someone has put thought into their choices. By the way, which stainless fridge has black handles? I haven't seen that. Can you provide a name and model?

It's not unreasonable to mix black and SS if you like the look. On the other hand, are you sure you can't find a SS fridge with black sides. My 8 year old KA fridge is SS but the sides and trim are black. You can also find a few fridges that have SS on all sides.

It's the "black glaze" part that I'd eliminate. Glazing like that has a tendency to make the cabinet just look shabby and old. There's enough going on with the gray stain on the wood, no need for glaze too. You also better make sure you will be comfortable with the variegations in the wood which will come to the surface with that wash. See on the sample pic you posted of the Snowbank door how the vertical, horizontal, and center panel pieces look so different from each other? Make sure you see it IRL and imagine that all over your kitchen. Some people--maybe you--might say "how charming, I love that". Others might not. Which one are you?

Here is the photo of the kitchen before we moved in. The fridge in the photos is not the one that is there now. We put a 36" counter depth with wood paneling and the exposed compressor grill on top there now. In front on the right of the swing doors is the bar with full counter and pass through window. In a couple of years, we'll replace the counters, cabinets and floors. I forgot to say the floors are not the reddish/pink tint. It's a slight multi dirt brown and yeah. What can I say. Another chapter for another day with the floors. LOL. We have a lot of other priorities to fix and update that are rather costly and can't be ignored. I know a lot of people don't like the Black Stainless Steel but I love it. So the question remains, can we get away with a black dishwasher (to replace current one) and ice maker that will match the lower cabinets when they are painted black if we can't find the matching wood panels for them?
