Trying to select bathroom tile and countertop

We plan to remodel our small (7x8.5) master bath and cannot decide on tile. We want to keep the layout of the existing bath, an MCM look, but with updated finishes and not so colorful that we get tired of it. I was thinking bamboo or walnut floating cabinets and some sort of floor/shower wall tile that is light colored. I like the Tilebar super white crystallized thassos porcelain tiles, but they are only in polished (and I prefer matte). I am wondering if they end up looking cheap. Any thoughts? I was also thinking of using light colored mother-of-pearl mosaic tile for the main shower wall. I am thinking of using it in a powderroom and was wondering if anyone has any experience using it in a shower. Lastly, I would like a countertop that it is matte and resists stains, but not cheap looking. Any suggestions? Thanks!
