Do linear suspension fixtures work with higher ceilings?

DG

DR in new construction home (measurements in FP below) will have double tray ceiling (center height 11', outer height 9') with the center section being about 10 x 13.

DH wants a linear suspension DR fixture. However, these seem to be pretty short...typically 10-12" high. The pictures I see of these typically have the ceiling cut off.

Will this general style work with these ceiling heights? Maybe something with more height would be better? I can't seem to get traction on what to look for (sigh).

If it matters....DR Table not purchased yet, but thinking it will be about 40-48 W x 90"L, medium wood, fairly plain transitional style. Lights chosen for over kitchen island across from table are Hudson Valley Knox with matte white glass in Satin Nickel finish (pix)...might also make a linear suspension look wrong?

TIA for any thoughts/suggestions.
