mb: Finally a topic I can contribute to. I had the same question many months ago and most responses were of the nature "who cares" or "what does it matter". Being of an inquisitive mind and trying to relate to the common language of "what did you pay per sq ft" I now can say I have new info and I believe it resolves the issue IMO. In Texas it is normal to quote conditioned space. It could be all space but it just isn't. My case involves a large amount of porch area covered by the roof, over the slab, and finished out probably more expensively than an extra bedroom. They have wood 1X4 floors, 2X6 cedar railings, 10' deep, real 1X4 wood beadboard ceilings, and exterior ceiling fans. So you can see they contribute alot to the total cost. House cost was $150K, built 15 years ago. Total sf is 3000 sf, conditioned is 2150 sf. Garage is detached. It is oversized so that would drive the cost up per sf. Bottom line: Cost was $70/sf using conditioned, $50/sf using total sf. I believe the latter is more appropriate because of what I explained plus I notice my homeowners insurance policy states (and is priced at I'm sure) 3000 sf. Hope this helps answer your Q.

I love love love marble, but just did not want to "worry" about it either. Now after doing the remodel I am even more convinced I made the right choice for me and my family. The kitchen is a messy messy place. I am already worried about wrecking the floors and the cabinets I couldn't imagine worrying about what might wreck my counters. I know the etching and staining doesn't bother some but I think it would bug me. i am really happy with my choice.

When I priced it over a year ago in Louisiana, it was $70 sq ft at Lowes for 2 cm. They didn't offer it in 3 cm. Another independent store priced it at $79 sq ft for 3 cm. I was actually pricing Silestone Kensho but I also had a White Zeus sample and they were in the same price category at that time. I hope my memory serves me well and I'm not passing a fib.

Maybe that's because when picked ripe their shelf life is not very long. And when picked before being fully ripe, they don't rippen well off the tree. Probably Cherimoya is best purchased at the store in the form of preprocessed frozen puree.
