the last property is close to where my dad was born, Bivins, Tx. My Grandmother and an aunt lived in Atlanta. I surely miss Texas and Louisiana.

I like that last one....it is a little farther away than I'd like tho. We plan to buy a small cottage in San Leon or Bacliff for Jody to stay part of the week and in shrimp season. This is the one I really like best for my horses.

Good pasture....looks like it would drain good...slightly hilly. I need to find a house already built. At our ages, we can't take the stress of building or doing extensive repairs.

I like the house because it looks comfortable, but not overly fancy. The furniture is also for sale. If we bought it, I would probably try to buy the furniture too. I don't have much of anything after the flood.

Yes. It started out at $350K. Then they dropped it to $325K. In November they changed realtors and upped it to $425K. Then they dropped the price to $399K. I think if it doesn't sell by the time we get ours sold....they will take an offer, and we will start at $325K.

The problem with the one in Atlanta....it is too far from the coast. Twice as far as the one in Centerville.

I need a place with good, improved pasture. I don't want a lot of woods. After almost being shot twice by the meth head next door, I don't want to go outside and worry about being mistaken for a deer (or a hog). :))

Marilyn, there isn’t much to not like about that place! Large kitchen and baths, good sized bedrooms, and on and on. I’m not a fan of carpet, but that was the only thing. And if it is as clean as it looks in the photos, win-win if it comes with most of the furniture. Nice property and outbuildings too.

I don't like the carpet, but that would be easy to change and put down the tile that looks like wood, that is in the rest of the house. I really do like it....probably look at it 10 times a day. Just hope it holds off selling for a little while.

Did you get flooded last night? Omg we woke up to the septic system alarm going off. Looked outside and it was a lake, scared the heck out of us. Then we found water in the sunroom floor. Apparently one of the Skylights leak during heavy rain.

No, we didn't flood....don't flood here usually. The flood following Harvey was the only time we've had water on the property. Harvey didn't cause us to flood....it was after it went out, turned around and came back and stalled out....did we flood.............but, we got almost five inches of rain, and that is very disheartening when I want the mud to dry up so we can get some decent pics of the place.

So sorry you got water in your sun room. I hope it is an easy fix. I understand your stress. I have got to the point that I would almost prefer to move to the desert than deal with this constant rain.

I was looking at the radar map and see what PKponder said about rain missing them. It went off to the south east. It never misses us though. :( The bayou is up and running fast though. We sold some land behind us, and the owner built a 2 acre pond, and a really nice dam. We can hear the water going over the dam....really loud. We walked back there to check on a beaver that has taken up residence in that pond. He has added some to the cement dam that is there. We get quite a kick out of him. I don't know if the owner even knows the beaver is back there, since he has his lodge on the side that connects to our pasture. I read a little about them....they eat bark, so he isn't hurting anything. Amazing how big a tree they can gnaw down. He is taking down trees on my side, which is okay with me.

My first response was to ask for a beaver pic, but that is considered quite rude in some circles. May we please have a picture of your new beaver critter? I've never seen one here in Texas.

Raven can you get the skylight fixed? I'm sure you've had quite enough of was where it shouldn't be.

Lucille, I've never seen him. I have just seen his handiwork and his lodge. I can take some pics of that. He showed up after the flood. I have never seen a beaver here either, although I believe there are some along the Brazos. I say that because seems like the wildlife center had one a few years ago, and that is what I think they said.

Lucille, I will certainly not try to get close to the beaver at all. I can believe their bite could be horrific. I have seen trees as big around as a quart milk bottle, chewed to a little point. I just wonder if there are other beavers out there. Like a family. I know he wasn't here before the flood. Anyway, I am not going to mess with him in any way.

Dang Raven! You can't get a break from the water. I hope you can get the old owner to pay for the fix.

I've never heard of beaver attacks. We had one that showed up at the pond at our house when I was growing up. We saw it moving around, but didn't get close. Someone dismantled the dam and he moved on.
