Please Help Me Understand My Adenium

Debarun Joardar

I bought a spindly adenium a few days ago. Then it looked like this.

After a few days, and a repotting later the leaves started to go yellow.

What is happening to it? It came in just clay soil so I repotted it to a sand-compost-clay mix, got a bigger pot. I let it stay on my roof in full sunlight and air, watered it sparingly only when the soil dried out. There's no brown or rotten roots, I checked.

The leaves that went yellow (which by now is almost all) started of as yellow splotches on the green foliage which proceeded to become almost solid yellow and at end had brown spots.

I stay in India, Tropical Savannah climate. Right now the season is transitioning from Winter to Spring. Tempeatures average between 17-32 Centigrade and Humidity between 26-38%

Please help me! I don't want to lose this plant!
