Dining table & fixture off center?

We are in the planning stages of a kitchen reno- will take down the wall behind the current kitchen to expand into the current dining room. We have planned to keep a formal dining space by using the current 'sitting room' adjacent to the dining room for our new dining room (pictures to come). Our plan is to allow access from the front door through the new dining space into the expanded kitchen, so a walkway will be needed alongside the new position of the dining table, which would force the table off center (longways) in that room. There is no ceiling opening for a light, so one would be added. We would want it centered over the table, but need opinions. If I keep the table centered on a strong piece of wall art in the middle of the long wall behind the table, is that enough?
Photos are dark, but the first is a look from the front entry through the current sitting room (new dining) into the current dining (new kitchen extension). Second is again from entry with better look at the wall I'd put art on and Third from current dining through to front entry. LAST (sorry!) is picture of eventual walkway (small wall to come down). Thanks for any opinions or experience. Centering the table will mean no room to walk past into the new kitchen area.
