White Paint (Sherwin Williams) for Kitchen Cabinets
Comments (3)I am in the process of picking a SW white for my cabinets.. and I am leaning towards Alabaster White. I see this was mentioned. Do you have this on your cabinets? I am finding the others to be too yellow or grey, and I dont think I want Bright White. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated!...See MoreWhat is Your Favorite Trim Color and Sheen (Sherwin Williams)
Comments (32)we are thinking of using SW Dover White (flat) on all the walls in our small open concept house to unify them; I like the slightly creamy undertones, however, cannot decide on a color for the trim. I am thinking maybe SW Alabaster in semi gloss. Anyone have any experience with the best trim to use with SW Dover White as the wall color? Comments (11)CarolT924, I don't have the Whole Wheat up yet and I won't really have rooms where the colors can be easily viewed together as I don't really have an open floor plan. So I can't speak to your question with actual experience. I have some rooms painted Comfort Gray and a large board painted with the Whole Wheat. When I hold those colors up against each other, I personally like the combo. Comfort Gray is fairly close in hue to Quietude but with more gray. Can you get a Color to Go sample and paint as much of the wall as you can in an area that butts up against the Whole Wheat shades? To get a good rendition of the Quietude, be sure to prime the wall before putting on the sample. The samples really aren't paint and don't cover very well. If you love Rainwashed, you will love Quietude. But if Quietude is a little more saturated than you want, you might want to check out Comfort Gray. Sounds dull, but it's really a very nice shade and very versatile....See MorePaint too dark for room? (Naval sherwin williams)
Comments (5)Umm.... pick a different brand of paint if you don't like the SW colors. Gotta say the grey with a deep blue is going to be really dim, dark and depressing in the room. The creamy color look better with the blues. Navy is going to be very dark -look almost black in low light. Try looking for a deep teal blue. I never use the SW or even Benjie Moore -- stick with the same paint company my family has used for over 150 years. They specialize in the historic colors - company has been in business for 200 years (oldest paint maker in the US) If I had to suggest a blue color, I would say Old Village Paint Rittenhouse Blue or Cabinet Maker's Blue. You can locate the company - Old Village Paint. They make an oil, a buttermilk finish and a latex. Their lightest color will cover anything in one coat. Stuff holds up for years - basically bullet proof. You use less of it - I just did 912 sq ft and only used 2 gallons (they say 400 sq ft/ gal) and it only takes 1 coat....See MoreEmily
