Comments (0)Am I being silly, because I already know, that we will really MISS our Sub Zero - Moving in a few weeks - Now What To Buy? Finally Sold House but little profit, we are very blessed to find a house in our new city that we can afford, barely! Thank you St. Joseph & Mother Mary. NEED another Refrigerator: Cabinet/Counter Depth, Bottom Freezer, Height 70" or less, Stainless Steel - Any Ideas on best Brand for the buck, in a New Refrigerator? What would you select & Where did you purchase your new Frig.? THANK YOU so much for sharing your Best and Worst Choices! Someone recommended a Samsung, does anyone have this brand and how do you like the way if functions inside and looks on the outside? Have you seen the White Pearl finish on the Samsung Refrigerator or do you know anyone who has this brand - what is your experience with Samsung? And we Need a New Kitchen Faucet, single hole - we like the Pull Out Sprayer and High Arch look - are these tall Faucets functional for you, do they splatter, outside of the sink? New house has large, double bowl Sinks, of Stainless Steel. Thinking of a Chrome Faucet - what is your Favorite Style, Brand & Finish and best suggestion? How do you clean the water spots, on your Faucet? Will also, miss our large White Sink, Villery & Boch by Franke! Thank you for your help, so much to do on this tight budget. Just want to get most reliable, functional and the best bang for The buck, guess we are all trying to do this, right! roseofblue...See MoreAm I crazy to paint my kitchen cabinets white?
Comments (27)Nlpie, I'm a little late to this party but have my 2 cents to add. Also, want to echo others comments that you have a gorgeous house and cabinets. First, a good friend of mine had her cabinets painted by a top notch professional crew. They did a first class job, and the finish held up for years. I think that with some changes you can have a wonderful kitchen either staying with natural cabinets or going creamy off-white. I'm mainly struck by your your lack of artificial lighting. The pot lights aren't even on in the kitchen ceiling. If there are no under cabinet, or above cabinet lights, please add both. Rather than just changing the lighting above the island, what about adding two skylights if this is a single story house? There are both layers of artificial light and skylights in my kitchen. It all makes a huge difference. Along the same line, I would add 3 floating shelves on either side of the large wall clock. Have led lighting built into each self to shine down, with lighting to shine up from the top shelf. Then add fine art decorative glass vases on the shelves. Rather than the clock, replace with a large painting which will have fine art lighting. Both the counter and the back splash go well with the wood cabinets. However, the counter and tile do not look good together imho, too busy. I would go with the cream crackle tile bluebell has shown, whether the cabinets are painted or not. It's always fun coming up with ideas for others to spend $$$. I'm really looking forward to seeing you kitchen when it's completed....See MoreRipping out brand new, never used, builder grade kitchen... Crazy?
Comments (35)If you just need a "working" kitchen to get the CO, then why not just get a sink and cabinet from H4H and have it set in place and working? I think that is not uncommon in kitchen renos anyway where there are going to be delays. Plug in a refrigerator. Set up a surface, cabinet or whatever, and put an induction hot plate in place. And a Breville oven maybe. That's a functional kitchen. CO's don't differentiate between beautiful and ugly, just safe and functional. Have all outlets, etc up to code and finished. Vent hood in place if you can be pretty certain of location. If you aren't sure of the location, you will need to get a permit (later, when you real cabinets are installed) because you'll be going through walls/roof and wiring (although maybe the wiring can be done now if you know the general location, so you wouldn't need a later permit). I'm thinking you actually have an almost ideal situation now. A big empty room with all wiring, plumbing and finish work done, just waiting for the cabinets you love to be installed....See MoreHow can I get a splash of hair dye off my new white painted cabinet?
