Staining and0 scratching of white quartz countertops?
Comments (4)Oh dear! Was the crack from placing a hot pot on it? When they patch these counters is the patch a solid color, or do they have the same aggregate as the original they mix with clear epoxy, and do the patch with that? I would have had them do it over. I prefer the chunky ones, but I'm using a calacatta 2 X 4 brick backsplash, and I'm don't think I like the larger speckles of the Caesarstone Nougat color with it. The other problem is with clear pieces in the white base, as if you get a clear piece on an edge it looks like a chip. The edges look a little ragged with the clear chips there, and you can't avoid them. Sara Richadson, the designer from Design Inc., has the Nougat in her kitchen with a carrera backplash. She used some mini brick in her design to try and tie in the speckles but I'm not sure I like them together. The Eggshell works better with my tile. I was going to use black granite, but it just seems so heavy and dark in a small, windowless apartment kitchen. The white is so clean and fresh looking and opens the space, especially with the cream cabinets and marble splash. Going to do a deeper brown gray limestone floor with it....See MoreMy Brand New Quartz Countertop Stained
Comments (9)Joseph, so you are correct in making any statements, our cleaning products DO NOT contain any soap, nor do they contain any detergents, or surfactants. Actually they are all 100% natural, safe on all stone of any brand, type and finish. Plus are 100% biodegradable etc. They are made by industry professionals AKA Master stonemasons for the stone industry. How's your university studies going? or they did not let you back after your Hot for Teacher incident? lauramandy4 there is a couple of issues going on here, 1) Pink Tylenol has a food coloring in it and will cause the staining to the quartz 2) Cilantro or Coriander as it is also known as has a strong chlorophyll pigment in it and why you are getting this issue as well. Both can be easily solved by using out Stone Power Cleaner which is available on Amazon in the USA and Canada via FBA and Prime. See our video for Turmeric etc as these cause the same issue and extremely easy to remove with a spray and wipe of our Stone Power Cleaner' https://youtu.be/JwVYmANZLxY This issue with 409 and my assumption is you are refering to the multipurpose cleaner is that it does not remove stains, plus it is Caustic with a pH of around 11.5 which is higher than most drain & oven cleaners. NOTE: any other product from 409 WILL CAUSE damage to the quartz. The use of 409 products would void sections 4,7 and 11 of your Quartz Masters warranty. http://www.quartzmasters.com/care-and-maintenance/#residential...See MoreBrand new white quartz kitchen counter tops. Comments (11)Regardless of the great relationship you may have with your countertop guy, the fact that he is self-reporting to have "no issues or complaints" from customers who have received his Emerstone installations may or may not mean anything in terms of how you will experience this product if you allow it to be installed. Sadly, it is all too common for countertop companies to blame problems on the consumer and to be very reluctant to provide any warranty work for failures of the material. You'll see many posts here at Houzz by homeowners who have taken countertop companies to court over misrepresentation. Rather than a lack of information, I think it is fairly clear from several threads posted here at Houzz, at minimum, that plenty of people have had issues with Emerstone. I refer you again to a research of Bretonstone Technology which is not always employed by offshore manufacturers such as Emerstone but can be found from higher-end manufacturers like Cambria and is described more in detail here: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/5856179/reviews-on-emerstone-quartz-durability-staining-chipping-etc#27297092...See MoreChessie
