stains and chips on new white Emerstone countertops?

Melissa Zappala

We have experienced white ring stains (perfectly circular like from a wet pot or plate rim) in a few places on our Borghini Gold countertops, and have had several chips out of the top surface of them already (6 weeks old). We also had a red wine stain from 5 minutes of the bottle resting on the counter which has mostly come out (though not completely) with a lot of elbow grease and cleanser. We got quartz for its durability and stain-resistance. Are we correct in thinking this is not how the product usually behaves? Is it possible to have lemon countertops or the installer failing to seal it properly?

They are coming out this week to try and "fix it" (not sure how...) - but if they can't, we are under warranty, so theoretically they could replace them. This is a nightmare to consider though as our tile backsplash goes all the way to the countertop and our sink is installed in the waterfall island, so floors impacted, etc. Has anyone ever done this sort of repair/swap out? Are we right in assuming the countertop company would be responsible for any damage (ie to floors or tile or whatever?)
Thanks in advance!
