Replacing partial dirt floor basement in 1911 cottage style home.

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased a lovingly updated 1911 cottage style home in Portland Oregon. The upstairs and main floors have all been renovated and updated over the past 18 years from the previous owners. However, the basement is something of interest. It is a partial dirt basement and partial concrete slab basement. It is about five feet tall. It is in total about 1040 sq ft. I would say the dirt portion of it is about 300 sq ft. The Hvac and water heater are on the concrete slab portion.

My questions is...

1.) How much do you think it would be to make the entire floor concrete?

2.) Would it be possible to make the ceiling height 8ft instead of 5ft?

3.) What is the timeline on this sort of thing?

4.) Should I just forget about it? If it aint broke, dont fix it sort of mentality?

The ideal situation would be to be able to dry wall the basement at 8ft tall and use it as a storage area as well as a music/art studio for the family.

Thanks!
