carving letters
Comments (13)Thank you all for the great ideas. Sorry, it takes me awhile to get back to the computer. I'm thinking Garden Chicken's tecnique on the partially cured 'tufa might be the best way to go for a first project. She does want to write more than just the horse's name and dates so trying to do it on wet tufa might be pushing it. Leigh, those foam rubber letters reversed in the bottom of the mold would probably be great if she weren't going to need multiples of some letters. Marley, your mold making instructions came up when I did a search. I told my neighbor about the talented person who carves letters out of POP and makes her own silicone mold and she started thinking maybe a wooden cross might be OK. Of course this was after also explaining why If she wanted to have rebar sticking out the bottom to stand it in the ground instead of making the stone longer she should coat with epoxy. :-) For the recipe I'll probably use 1 cement,1 1/2 sand, 1 sifted peat, and 1/2 vermiculite. Right now the size is 1ft x 2ft x 3in. Were're hoping this won't be TOO heavy. We should probably try a small test batch first to practice carving. Sure wish I had a dremel. Sorry I can't promise pictures :-( That's one reason I don't post about my projects cuz I know how disappointing it is when there aren't any pictures. I did try awhile ago. My son finally brought his digital camera over and I took some pictures...then after several tries he finally brought the right CD over for downloading from the memory card. Afterwards our cpmputer was all messed up and spent 3 weeks at 'puter Dr.'s house....ended up having to order a new mother board... he said it wasn't our sons fault-just a coincedence but I'm not real anxious to let him try again. It sure is frustrating being computer illiterate. packrat2...See MoreWhat do you do when you're not livin' and breathin' roses...
Comments (13)So, Florence dear, did you go to the Mtns. ? If so, I hope you had lots of fun and are feeling refreshed. You know, I've been thinking about (and praying for) Robyn and I got to thinking, all this stress can't be good for her health. Perhaps she could get some relief from ordering one, or more, relaxing DVDs from WAVESDVD.COM. That is what I have done to try to ease this great big build-up of stress that I have been experiencing. Well, they came in the mail today, and I put one of the BEACHES DVDs into the dvd player, cuddled-up with my Winnie-the-Pooh bear, and Piglet, on the sofa under a comfy blanket and blessedly dropped off into a deep, much-needed sleep for hours. :) (You might really enjoy them, too.) You see, I have been under a lot of stress due to financial strain, and also due to having a local company squeeze in building a house 5 ft. from my property line in this formerly semi-rural neighborhood. The people who bought and live in that house are chronic noise-makers, doing their wild partying into the wee hours of the morning. Night after night, month after month of sleep deprivation is sooo very bad for my health--I have multiple sclerosis. You mentioned wanting to go to Tahiti, well, so do I!! to get away from them. Also, I am sick and tired of their garbage and beer cans ending up in my yard, and having some of the multitude of their fellow partiers parking in my driveway, on my lawn, or up next to the fence, gunning their loud engines and showing off to their friends how loud and noisy their SPECIAL mufflers are, and slamming their vehicle doors. Talking to them and calling the police (when they are keeping me up late) has done nothing to alleviate the problem. In my less charitable moments, which sad to say, have become more often, I think of them as "The Ugly Americans." :( Rude, obnoxious, inconsiderate people anyway... Comments (117)First off, I think it is great what you are doing for Grovespirit and by all means send me an address. Secondly, I apologize for the mix up on sending two of yours back DirtDiggin. Now to get you squared away, I understand that a player is sending you Marianna's Peace, if not I can send you some. Siberia I do not have extra nor Stump of the World. I sent you extra CP because you wanted to try Ted's. Since Ron did not send the pastes, I substituted different CP seeds from different growers (Dan's, mine, trades). I then added Siberian, Roma and Sub Arctic Plenty because of there not being any SIBERIA. I then added what I thought were extras; Caro Rich and Yellow Perfection from Seeds of Change. That makes six of your request. That equals 15 if I count right, plus two of yours were mistakenly added. So did you get 17 or...??? Not counting yours..? Players may be able to help with what you are missing....please keep me informed. I just redid my inventory list and when I get that updated, I will send my page link and you can pick from a BIG list of extras I have. By the way, players who sent only a Dozen Dozen received more back. I did not sort players by how many packs sent...giving is just that-giving. If you got the list of what every player received...you would note that many got way more than they sent and that I certainly sent out...well let's just say that I didn't even keep track but I did send many packs that I took in trade to fill in the niches and even sent some 45TH Parallel packs of fresh seed from growouts. If you got my BearClaw you got the second place seeds from the contest over in I Dig :) Just let me know what I can do to make it right....See MoreTotally frustrated--computer issues
Comments (33)That's what the power down and up is for to get everything on the same settings. I am pretty sure what is needed is to select the new network on the printer setting and then enter the new password for the new network. It won't be able to get online until it has been updated with that information. You should have a control center for the printer on the laptop, it installed it when you installed the printer software. Go into the control panel of the printer, not the computer control panel! Select the network interface information select the new network in the list of available networks when you do that it will pop up asking for the password enter the correct password and connect. Using an ethernet cable from the printer directly into the back of the router should let you use it with out doing any of that it would be directly plugged into the network, so no wireless password needed....See Moreravencajun Zone 8b TX
