Comments (6)When you said you were having a "noah's ark cake" I assumed it would be a real cake, not a diaper cake. LOL! Lovely presentation....good thing 30 people didn't show up! You would have been raiding the pantry! Cookies or bars would have been a nice addition and made your sandwiches go farther. Linda C...See MoreHow many tea sandwiches should I make
Comments (11)Nancy, I actually prepared the insides for the sandwiches already and we'll assemble them at 1:00 on Sunday. I read some of the stuff is good for a week in the fridge and some is good up to 72 hours in the fridge. The only thing I'm afraid I made too early is the cream cheese, butter and mint mixture I made that on Wednesday. It smells fine but I don't know if that is going to keep okay for 4 days in the fridge. I'm doing the Salmon and Cream Cheese spread for the bagel chips as late as I can so it can be mixing at least 24 hours but no more than 48 hours in the fridge. That way everything is done since I'm doing most of the work (I have a two year old and am 8 months pregnant) it will be easy because the last thing to do will be assemble the sandwiches. The shower is 20 miles away so I have to transport all of the food and the buffet equipment and decorations over there Sunday morning and I can't do anything from this evening to tomorrow evening because it is Shabbat. Everything starts at 2:00 so I'm hoping 1:00 will give us time to assemble the sandwiches and they won't be soggy by the time guests arrive....See MoreLOOKING for: Signature sandwiches
Comments (35)Sure Pat, I'm not sure this will qualify for your Louisiana favorite but it is good tasting. Quantities are not exact. You can adjust to your liking. Olive Salad Spread pimento stuffed green olives, black Greek olives,Calamata olives --we get our olives from the olive cart in the deli. 2 spoonfuls of each olive type. Maybe 16 of each type? 2 TBS capers, drained 1 celery stalk, chopped 2 carrots, chopped 2 roasted red peppers in oil, chopped 1 sml red onion, chopped 2 tsp celery seed 2 tsp oregano 3 cloves garlic, crushed fresh ground black pepper to taste olive oil, start with 1/4 cup, you may need more Put all ingredients into food processor. Pulse a few times to break down the veggies into small bits. You want the consistency to be of a paste for spreading but still be able to see the veggies. Put the spread into a covered bowl and let marinate over night. It keeps for about a week in the fridge. Hope this helps in your search Pat! NancyLouise...See More- 8 years ago
