Thanks, the basket is one of my prized possessions. Got it an antique shop years and years ago for what it is now little money but for me back then it was a fortune. But when you fall in love with something, you just gotta have it. (probably didn't pay the gas bill that month!) :) As for the buggy, it's an early 1900s piano box or doctor's buggy. I used to collect carriages, and this one didn't have its top, I restored that. Never had a horse so always borrowed the neighbor's pony. Pony has passed on long ago and so have my driving days. Friends who shared my passion for all things romantic are spread far and wide now. So you see, a person can collect this and that, buy a cloth here a buggy there and years later you gather it up and put it all together for a half hour of pure bliss! One thing about typing posts in a thread on GW is that while you are in the midst of it, you can't stop and go back to the original thread and jog your memory as to names,ect. I so wanted to include others in the picnic tea. I knew sweetannie would be much too busy canning her garden harvest to come with us!

An oyster po-boy made with really good French bread, oysters fried just right, warm bread slathered in butter. I prefer butter to having it 'dressed' with Lettuce, Tomato & Mayo--although if someone were to give me one of those, I'm sure I could choke it down. Roast beef po-boy, again on crusty warm French bread. Both of those are from my younger days, but recently I've enjoyed a local Mexican dive's tortas--good meats on good bread with some avocado as well. And when fresh tomatoes hit the market, tomato/mayo/black pepper on wonder-type white bread. (That's the only sandwich I would use that 'baloon' white bread for, except maybe for a grilled cheese sandwich made for someone recovering from illness.)

I agree that the Almost No Knead Bread recipe is quite easy. I had great success with it the first time I made it, but have to say I didn't taste the beer and vinegar very much at all. Can't post a pic until I get home. The last month I have been babying a beer sourdough starter and finally made bread this past weekend. What a failure! My very first bread "door-stop" in my entire 30+ years of making bread! So....that starter is going to get tossed!

Oh, this is bring back wonderful memories of the tea I took my DS and DGC to in London last April! We had tea at a wonderful hotel The Lanesborough. I've been there many times, and it did not disappoint. These are the finger sandwiches served: Egg (salad) and watercress H. Forman salmon and cream cheese Ham and aged cheddar cheese with honey mustard dressing Cucumber and mint Coronation Chicken They were fabulous! Coronation chicken salad is made with a bit of curry in it - just a tiny bit. It's SO good - best chicken salad ever! I also like VERY thinly sliced tomato sandwiches with just a tiny bit of mayo. A lot of the very expensive London hotels are now doing some rather non-traditional teas - guess to please the new, very wealthy young ones who destain anything traditional. Thanks, but no. Here in KY, tea sandwiches always include pimento cheese - SO good!
