When good coffee grounds go bad..,
Comments (14)What Karl said. One precautionary note that's important. If it is moldy on top, first of all, cover it if it's not already. Second, and this is the important part, when you get home and open it, *avoid spreading spores by aerosol*. This would include gently removing or cracking the lid in an area without wind and then I would pour (not spray) some water on top to wet the spores. Reason I mention this is even if you don't have mold allergies or other sinus conditions, it's not a good idea to breath in a big spore load....See MoreAdult SS is going to be the end of my marriage
Comments (20)Sorry I haven't replied, but I decided to take my kids to my sister's for a few days, to get away from my stepson and even my husband. My stepson has been trying to get a job at the place my almost 14 yr old works at part time, making $5 an hour. Well, they hired him today. So he thinks his ticket has come. He only has to work 8am until 1pm, 5 times a week. This way he can say he has a job, he can sleep until 7:30am, gets out of walking the dog in the morning and still has the rest of the day to play on his laptop, because the place he works is literally 5 minutes away. I told my husband this isn't acceptable. With the $200 my husband is going to start making his son pay per month, that means stepson will be making $300 a month. How is he supposed to get a car, gas and insurance, not to mention, saving up to get his own place? I finally said what I've wanted to say for months...that stepson needs to go back home. Although my husband knows it's true, he just can't commit to saying "yes, he is going back". He said his ex is calling their son on the weekend (they haven't spoken since he moved here, which is weird all on its own). I explained that she doesn't want him back, so she's going to say how proud she is he got a job and say how horrible we are for wanting him to leave. I just really hope my husband doesn't back down, because if he does, he really will end up losing me, and to some extent, his other kids. Thanks everyone for your advice, opinions and support....See MoreBed from former marriage must go. Do either of these work in my space?
Comments (8)I wonder if you might be better off to buy a bed frame, mattress and box spring from a well known company that specializes in them, and then a separate headboard? Then you could be sure to get one that isn't too low, and you'd have a huge selection of headboards. If you choose a tall one, I think it would be best on a wall with no windows, so it would be the star, and could be centered on the wall. I used to have a king-size bed and didn't care for it and it wasn't fun to make it up. I switched to a queen and like it much better, and my 3 dogs fit in it, too, every night... :-) I don't know the size of your doorways, but you might need a split box spring to get a king in the room. I did, as my bedroom is on the second floor, and we couldn't turn the corner at the top of the stairs. We had to FOLD the mattress and tie it up tightly with rope to get it up and into the room. Measure carefully!...See MoreHow to announce a marriage without it seeming like a gift grab?
Comments (24)Gifts should never be mentioned period. Etiquette hasn't disappeared. People chose to ignore it. People should give gifts because they want to. Never because it is expected or not expected. People who get gifts should accept them with grace. If they don't want them they are free to pass them on to others or charity. Once given a gift it become their property to with what they wish. Both my kids quietly got married without fanfare. On their first anniversary DD and her DH hosted a costumed anniversary party for close family and friends at a restaurant. They ever intended it to be "a wedding" but it sure turned into one. It is still talked about. Everyone came in costume and everyone one brought gifts. No gift registry no mention of gifts but every gift was unique and appreciated. Why? Because they invited real friends and close family. Whenever friends get together that wedding party is still talked to this day when the subject of marriage or related subjects comes up. DS's friends were probably aware of his marriage before we were. I am pretty sure many wished to celebrate by gifting them. But again they would be true friends, not distant people or acquaintances you only exchange a Xmas card with if that. Family was told at Xmas dinner and he said he they would like to have a small BBQ for family when the weather got warm. Immediate family only and a few best friends....See More- 8 years ago
