Quartz countertop color variation from home depot. Can I return?
Comments (8)" It's only 10ft 7in. so it should fit on a slab and not need a seam right?" When Silestone tells a fabricator a jumbo slab is 63" x 128", that is the minimum useable yield he'll get; he might squeak out another inch or two even on a regular slab (55" x 120"). You probably weren't charged extra for a seamless jumbo, but what you've gotten is two remnants from different batches. He woulda made good money on this one, had he gotten away with it....See MoreAnyone have Silestone Royal Reef or Desert Silver quartz counter tops?
Comments (22)This is the only post I could find regarding Royal Reef Quartz. Do you think Royal Reef would go nicely with white cabinets (black hardware) and white subway tile. Our island is a color called Hale Navy. We have Maple light colored flooring. Most of our accents (stools, pendants) are a matte black and stainless. I’m worried the Royal will look too beige. The woman helping us with the quartz said the RR wouldn’t look beige that it would take on the color of the navy and white. I’m not convinced .... any advice? BTW your kitchen is beautiful! Comments (23)Yes you're right! So I had the old Carrara marmi and they were getting a new lot in June that would be whiter so I think that ended up being the difference. They said the company switched manufacturers and the whole lot they had received was the off white tone of marmi. It's identical to the first picture! I had no idea there was a new vs old. Luckily they were very helpful and are allowing me to pick out any quartz from the show room and replace it for $300 whichever I choose. I could have gotten the new marmi but I would have to wait until June when it comes in. This felt like a great option to me though as the higher up quartz was not really in my price range at all. So I am happy with that and I got to look through many different styles of white quartz slabs in the warehouse and bring a few home to decide. They are going to replace the whole thing. Now I just have to choose between Cararra Morro and Calacutta Clara!...See MoreMSI quartz sample does not match counter tops
Comments (6)Thanks Sammy and JuneKnow. They have already cut the countertop (they came to install it, but one of the cabinets is damaged and is getting replaced first...in some ways we were lucky that we got to see it before the install). I am hoping the issue is they did the wrong mix/quartz, ie the Montclair White. It's shocking how different both design and color are from the sample. I'd expect that with granite, not quartz. The back of the samples say there may be "slight variation", but is representative of color and material. We've paid 50% at this point. Ugh. Missing having a kitchen sink!...See More- 6 years ago
