The steps off the porch are where? on the left high side? Do consider putting a railing but only across the front. You could then add eye hooks evenly spaced above the railing and hang several hanging baskets for flowers (or strawberries) above the rail and pick up a few over-the-railing brackets and rectangle pots as well. Would not clutter the front yard with a lot of plantings but a hedge that looks good year round (such as Aucuba bushes or Cammilia bushes or Gardinia bushes)in front of the porch (kept trimmed at rail level) would be a good finishing touch. Outline that planting area with a solid row of pavers with their tops level with the ground level will make mowing up to the planting area easier. You could also create a tiny front yard patio to the right of the porch with a small round table, a couple of comfortable chairs and a few groupings of potted flowering plants or even your favorite vegetables/spices. A bird bath visible from the patio seating could provide entertainment.

It is already midcentury modern. Clean it up--it'll look great. The brown trim can be updated to something currently fashionable--see if a charcoal gray will play nicely with the stone. A mossy green would be nice. I'm not sure if the siding should be the same or a different color--just that it should be changed. Mind if I ask where approximately this is located? It is not your everyday MCM! I'm wondering if the half-timbered stone look is common out there. It's very cool.

I don’t think ”just paint” makes sense for your house because of the door next to the garage. It would be totally worth the investment to put an overhang/awning that goes over both the garage door and that lower door, like a weather portico, to diminish the visual effect that isolated door is having on the facade of your house. And then paint that door and the garage door a dark, unintersting color. Next biggest impact would be to paint your concrete foundation the darket color that is part of the brick. Invest in a solid storm door, all glass. Depending on your choice for a door color, think about a contrasting color for the metal railing.

Looks like you have a water problem on the right side by the gable. Better fix that. The color of the house is okay. I think it would look a lot better with foundation planting. I would not have any thing in front of the stone part and the two adjacent windows. But starting from there out have a mix of interesting evergreen shrubs. Taller ones between the windows and shorter ones in below the two most outer windows. The railings are installed much too close together, making the entry seem narrow and tight. They should be moved. Maybe the steps need to be wider. I think the front door is too ornate.
