Honestly whenever I tried to spray furniture with a spray cans I was not happy with the result - it is hard to get an even application - dripping is an issue.

Do you have experience doing this? Maybe watch a YouTube video or two and ck out your comfort level.

what finish were you planning on using? What look are you going for- country?

Agree, spray painting would not be the best way to go. Perhaps look up chalk painting on YouTube. Very easy, I did a table and 6 chairs and a cabinet.

My girlfriend did her old set also.

I agree with Angel. Chalk paint would be much better, and less messy.

I have spray painted little things but nothing this big. i am going easy country. and using a water based flat finish.

The tables look really good! what kind of chalk paint? what finish can you use with that? would acrylic be ok?

There is absolutely no way you are going to do that with 7 cans of paint. It will take 2 coats, minimum, on everything (white over a dark color), and more on the spindles (because uneven coverage on round items). I'd bet you are looking at 20 cans of paint, easily, at least for 2 coats.

You are going to need a lot more spray paint than that. Figure 2-3 cans just per chair. Spray paint is fine for small projects, but not for large. A can of spray paint doesn't go far. Last thing I spray painted was four 5 gallon flower pots. I used one can on each pot.

Any thoughts on what kind paint to use? besides chalk paint? and a soft white, not stark color?
