New dinning room table
WHoot!!1 It has not arrived yet. Some time this week when the seller will be making a trip up this way in her truck. So excited. Of course this means more house re-arranging but oh so worth it. It is vintage 1930's/ 1940's enamel top self storing leaves and an end drawer or center drawer I guess. I will put is where the half round table is now and put the half round table in the master where the little white table is. Give that table back to friend or?? Cause I am not sure where else to squeeze it in. If I ever do get company over for dinner and we all choose to eat at the table I can sit is up to the little couch for seating on one side and chairs on ends and other side. Just not sure where knees would go in center. Cost was very insanely low. This is a once in a life time find I could not pass up.
Half round table will work in master as it does in dinning room to hold the two old laptops in the shelf under table top and I can sit in my white chair already there so not all that much of a change. Just swapping tables for tables. Sending one away.
would you pass this little beauty up? It does need a tiny bit of repair by the drawer. I am sure I can fix it.

Comments (12)Notepad, I thought you explained it pretty well. I don't think you need anything more than your table and buffet. As for space, take a roll of painter's tape, tape off the dimensions of the table, allowing about 3- 4 feet around the perimeter for the chairs, then see if there would be room for a buffet, and if so, where would it best fit....See MoreHelp me with color selection for new sofa and dinning table

If you have any recommendations please share the pictures. Does barstools and dinning chairs need to be of same color and material or it can different? I really like what you recommended but, I wanted some cushion for dinning and bar stools. Do you think the following would look good? Comments (13)Your note to me said the “pedestals” are coral…as in real deal coral? Just trying to work with the pieces for you, as the pairing of the chairs and the coral shape are at odds. .Let’s say you used a fabric like this and painted the chairs either black or white, in a high gloss finish. Okay, not a bad combo, but the problem is now the chairs and table do not go in your dining room…everything would have to change…wall color, wall decor (not a huge problem there) and chandelier and a rug. Would the dining room then work with the rest of the house? IMO, the chairs are great…solid, quality and you can still paint them for your room. You can even keep the glass top, but the coral would have to go. It could be replaced with Chippendale base, in the style of this rattan one: eBay for $99.00! Comments (2)Hi mcucchi! It depends on the width or diameter of your table. Measure that in inches and then look for drum chandeliers that are between 2/3 and 3/4 of that size. So, for example, say your table is 50 inches in diameter. 2/3 of 50 is 33" and 3/4 of 50 is 37.5". You could look for chandeliers between about 32" and 38" in diameter. Then, hang the chandelier between 30 to 36 inches above the table. (If you have higher ceilings, add 3 inches for each additional foot of ceiling. You don't want to hang a chandelier up so high that you can't see it or benefit from its light!) This advice comes from our guide to light sizing. 7 years agoAnd it is gone right out from under me. The daughter to the seller said she really loved and wanted it and I am just not the kind of person to say I saw it first and then make a family mess of all of it. The lady offered me another table I am considering at half the cost making my consideration even more so to go for it. It is another vintage table in wood. Not the darling black and white enamel top. Course I could always paint that on it and put a glass sheet over all. I even have some large tempered glass sheets that might work. I forget their size. And tempered glass can not be cut to fit.
The wood table is smaller than it looks It is 48 by 40 and would easily fit where the other half round table was. It is also on wheels and could be rolled over to the couch for one side seating. Four legs in the corner are an issue this way but not as much of an issue and the big center of the first table. I am really not expecting company for dinner. If it has not happened in the 8 1/2 years we have been here it is not likely to happen now.
It would also make a nice work table for me behind the chairs and I could put the work table I am now using in the dinning room. It is only 27 inches wide. and the wider table would fit where the old work table is. Length on both is the same. No drawers on other wood table. Lots of thinking to do tonight on if I even want to do this. It can all go right back as it was and just forget it.
Photo of the second choice table. She said ti is very sturdy just dusty from sitting out in the garage. I would clean it and paint it white.

7 years agoThat second table is nice, too. I'd take it BUT it sounds to me like it's 2nd choice and you are not "in love". "In like" maybe but will that be enough to make you forget the 1st one? If I had to guess I would guess that enamel top was not original to the legs. I've never seen that combination and I do love an enamel top table. I wish you weren't so far away! There are 2 of them about 23 miles from me. I go look at them periodically just to torture myself.
It's probably a good thing we don't live closer! I bought a small cupboard to put my 3 ring binders in. Unfortunately they didn't all fit. But first..... move the too small white cupboard to make space for the filing cabinet. Put the new cupboard where the filing cabinet was. Move the too small white cupboard to the middle of the floor so I have scooting room for the other stuff I'm moving. The room looks better but I still don't have enough shelves for all the binders. I think I will keep looking.
The "new" little cabinet was $20, with the worst green paint job you have ever seen. The cabinet quality was NOT worth $20 but it was the size I needed. It's hard to find one deep enough to put binders in and still be able to close the doors. And apparently I have still not found the right one. Two will not lay side by side in the open part and of course they won't stand up in there. I can stack 2.
