Some interesting experience buying groceries today

I need some cream ... for coffee, cereal, stew, etc., so after the church meeting this noon I visited the drugstore near it, where I usually get milk (lower price for seniors on Thursdays).

There was a two-layered sale price on the edge of the shelf, "$2.29 per litre till Jan 14" and under it, to show when the top sheet was torn off, "2/$5.00 till Jan 17".

I picked up 2 - one for me, one for son. The checkout till said "$5.00".

I said, "What's this? It says $2.29 on the shelf which adds to $4.58 for two".

The lady checked the shelf, brought back the double-decker price slip ... and gave me back my $20.00 bill.

I said that I should be paying the $4.58 ... but she said that when there was such an error, that the product comes at no charge.

So ... I'll be getting extra enjoyment from my coffee, etc. for a week or two.

ole joyfuelled ... with some extra fuelling enjoyment from his coffee for the next while

P.S. Was paying cash - no debit, credit card, etc. ... but I imagine that reversing such a transaction wouldn't have been a problem. (Had it been a cheque for payment, it wouldn't have been written, at that point).
