They required a baby picture from the seniors for the annual. We sent this one over today. I was tempted to clean up his sweet face, but couldn't bring myself to do it. Warts and all, my baby :)

A flicker and a blue jay at the feeder a couple of weeks ago.

murraysmom, in all the 40 or so years that we have been feeding the birds, I don't recall ever having a Flicker at the feeders. See and hear them around, but never at the feeders! Same with Red Headed and Pileated woodpeckers, even though suet is always available for them.

Today we are over run with Doves

I have never had a flicker before either. The pileated woodpecker has been in my trees but never at the feeder. But the little woodpeckers do come to the feeder. I do put peanuts in the shell on the feeder so maybe that is what they are coming for?

The Redbelly, Downy and Hairy woodpeckers are regulars here, but I don't see them taking the peanuts that DH puts out daily. The major takers of them are the Blue Jays and the Crows. The Jays announce to the multitudes, it seems, the second DH comes out the door to spread the peanuts. Bird feeding gives us a lot of entertainment.

We get the downy, hairy, red bellied and flickers at our feeder and they all prefer the suet to other things.
