trying to pick out finish for new pool..HELP!! please!!
Comments (20)Wish I could help with the equipment. I don't have a heater and just took what they offered with the pool. I have a Jandy stealth pump, a nature 2 Fusion Soft salt chlorinator, and a simple polaris 280 vacuum robot. I really wouldn't recommend the polaris. It messes up all the time. the wheels get hung up and won't turn. I have to pull it out of the water and turn the wheels until it decides to start working on its own. I'll probably have to buy something else this summer. BTW, I still can't get in my pool because the water is still too cold. My friend's pool is warmer and they have already started using theirs. I have shade in my yard and she doesn't. I am drooling every time I look out the back door. I can't wait. The color you picked sounds good and I'm sure it will turn out great....See MoreNeed help picking out new daylily
Comments (9)A word about the color pink in daylilies. It's not a natural color for daylilies. Oh, there are daylilies that are registered as pink, or have pink in the title, but the term is subject to the eye of the beholder. Many, many pinks are peachy pink for instance as the yellow/orange species daylily color influences the back of the petals and the main color itself. When I was a newbie I can remember going to a daylily show with lots of daylilies and asking about the color pink. I wanted to match one up with my roses. It was my first hard lesson in squinting to try and see what the man showing me saw. What I was shown was way off of what one thinks of as pink in the rose AND hydrangea world.....If this is a Blue Hydrangea however, you will have more wiggle room then if it was a pink one you were trying to match.....Now that you know that a good pink is harder to find then say a yellow or orange or red etc., let me offer you a name to research that you might like if you can find it. I keep a record of bloom times in my zone 7A garden and this is bloomed out by late June. It is registered as an Early so very well may work out time wise for you. It is Leslie Renee. I don't think you will find many who don't really like her and she is fairly widely available. You will do what you want in the end, and learn as we all have, but I would suggest you do not order from Gilbert Wild. Many years ago it was a good firm, but it's been sold on and is not a place to try if you are new at this hobby. Look around at your reputable sites, and try and find Leslie Renee or others. Always start with quality plants if you can...........Maryl...See MoreHelp picking out new pendant lights in entrance way- what style?
Comments (24)Are we talking about the "entry" right at the front door? Or the space up on the step up area toward the stairs. Basically, though, it's the base of the table that will somewhat define the style. The more rustic, it becomes more "Mountain lodge" and the more refined it can go modern, contemporary or even more "transitional". They are also pretty expensive so before you invest money there, figure out how much you want to or can spend now, and then start selecting things you like and create an "Ideabook" here on Houzz. That will help you "define" which style direction you like. You can "like" a number of styles, but ultimately one will become more apparent than others....See MoreNeed help picking out rug and curtains to match new furniture
Comments (9)my daughter has similar chair and grey sectional...she has windows just like yours! She did a navy and white wide horizontal stripe. She got them on sale at Target I think, 5 panels and they are the shorter length and she hung them on a one inch diameter rod and they stop right at the bottom of the window, the rod is between the ceiling and the window top and are about 5 inches beyond the windows on each end...they look so cool and since they are not hitting the floor they hang nice and straight.......the sofa is in front of the window too,...See MoreUser
