Pretty bloom but AMAZING FRAGRANCE-very strong fruity -smelled it from distance away! Was surprised! Yummy! Beautiful! Now my new fav rose! Comments (79)@Liz Bell summer romance prefers full sun here in the south and they do not burn in all day sun. As long as they get 6 or more hours of sun it does well Mine got afternoon dappled shade after 1 pm from a nearby tree until the sun shifted enough in late afternoon to provide more direct sun. So if your areas can provide at least 6 hours it should be great. Kordes here seem to prefer all day sun compared to Austin’s. Comments (11)Give it sunlight. Bright, shaded sunlight. If that's where you're keeping it in the photo, I would definitely move it closer to some more indirect sun. I would also increase the frequency of how often you water it. Especially if it's potted up in just bark by itself. If that's just bark mix, then you can't give it too much water. I grow mine outdoors for most of the year and they definitely get much more indirect sun than that. Just as long as it's not directly shining onto its leaves, then it's not too much sun. As for the yellowing, was that leaf pressed up against a window? If that were my orchid, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just keep it dry. But your plant still needs sunlight. Removing it from bright light would only cut back on its ability to manufacture food. Photosynthesis is the only way plants can feed themselves. If you do move it back closer to a brighter location, just make sure to keep the blooms facing towards the light, so that they continue to open up facing the same direction....See MoreLisa Adams

6 years agoSorry it took me so long to respond, Lilyfinch. I’ve been sick. I decided that I’d always long for the rose I wanted in the first place, Sweet Mademoiselle. I couldn’t justify both, so I exchanged them. If I had unlimited space, energy, and water, I’d have both of them for sure. While I was ill, a friend came to take care of me. She adored the bouquet of Princess Charlene de Monaco that I had on the table. When I began feeling better, she suggested a trip to the nursery to purchase herself a PCdM. ( She came down from Bakersfield). If she hadn’t gotten me out to the nursery, I probably would have just kept Orchid Romance. I couldn’t resist a trip to my favorite nursery, and it was just the right kind of outing for me. So she got her PCdM and the DA rose Royal Jubilee. I exchanged my rose and because she scanned my nursery card, earning “hedge fund points”, I turned around and bought a shrub for my slope that I’d been wanting. It’s called “Cousin Itt” Little River Wattle. A happy ending! Lisa

5 years agoThanh Kieu, to me yours doesn’t look different enough to rule it out as being Orchid Romance. Is it the first year for yours? Not all roses, but some look different in the beginning, but totally change as the bush becomes more established and look like what they’re supposed to.
Maybe one way to tell would be by the thorns, they are kind of unique to this variety.
