redsilver, I was hoping for some more options. The first link just has a couple of options (don't like brown, hale navy is too dark). The veilet violet looks kinda... brown to me. Should I be using muted colors for accent walls or bright colors?

I have some blue chairs on my office room, so maybe blue is a good color for the accent wall. I have a quart of SW Notable Hue. The master bedroom has a blue/green theme going on, so maybe something like Stratton Blue would be good. The 2nd bedroom doesn't have much going on color wise, but the comforter (which cost about $30...) has cream, blue and gold in it... so maybe a simple tan/beige accent wall would work. I'm a genius!

Okay, well, I know that once you get into the mauve violet hues, that brown is going to be part of the tint added to the paint. I was just confirming you are headed in the direction professionals have combined with your base color for the paint companies. You can likely do better if you don't like the brown, or than likely the gold tones, finding something more in the silvery hues of the colors you are thinking. They would be lighter colors certainly. In those photos that brought in grays, you will find that grays are either blue or brown based, and the person tinting the base can tell you what tints they are adding...Blues take them towards the purple range while browns towards the tan range. Grays are very hard colors but I always liked just the right shade of yellow with gray. I would think that could be a very pretty office accent wall, and not a brown yellow but something like Lemon Pie, which can veer towards a bit of a green hue, and yet is very versatile, light and clean. If that is too much the wrong direction, than there is a shade of silvery grey out there, that may be the perfect blend for your office setting with the Revere Pewter. Maybe Silver Sage, is a nice idea for your office?
