We demolished and rebuilt our large shower in 2002, and the plumbing fixtures we put in were Hansgrohe (that was before Hansgrohe was bought out and became a Masco company.) We had a rainshower-style shower head. We have low-ish (not REALLY low, but fairly low) water pressure, and after seven years we decided last year that we wanted more vigorous showering. In searching for a replacement showerhead, we conducted very extensive and intensive research into our options, including purchasing, installing, and (up to the last) returning several showerheads from several different makers. The bottom line: you owe it to yourself to include the Moen Velocity 6320 in your plans. Accept no substitutes. You will see a lot of positive user reviews of the Moen Velocity on amazon.com and elsewhere; the positive reviews are true, based on our own experience. Returning to the style or function issue, the Moen Velocity is a rainshower-type head, but it is pretty heavy. Your articulating connecting arm had better be able to keep the head perky. We had to use a chrome-plated arm from Danze that does not match the brushed nickel/stainless steel plumbing fixtures that we have elsewhere in our bath. The performance of the Moen Velocity is very much worth the loss of style points from the mismatched finish in the arm. And (a bonus) Moen customer service really is customer SERVICE in these days that "service" seems to be more of a word than a concept. Encourage them.

I am gutting my 30 year old bathroom. I would like to replace the showerhead and tub faucet on the tub. What is the difference in a single hand pressure balanced tub and showerhead and a double balanced showerhead. Other than the kit what else did I have to buy. I bought a new tub and a new drain.

We purchased our home in 2003. The Delta Monitor single hand shower faucet broke inside (the cartridge assembly) and we went to Lowe's and to Home Depot. We called around and even called Delta. I got a very RUDE lady on the phone and said it had broken and flooded my bathroom floor and we had the water turned off. I asked about a lifetime warranty. She asked if I was the original owner and I said no. She said she had the part but I would have to pay the 76.00 for it plus S&H. She was very arogant and I said that people do not stay in a house long and that the lifetime warranty was very misleading. I told her before I purchased it from Delta I would hire a plumber to come to my house and pull out all the Delta faucets (I have 3 1/2 baths) and put in something that was better. She said she was sorry to hear that and in her arrogant voice said goodbye. My husband found the part 35 miles from our home. It was actually cheaper than what the lady at Delta said it would be. Nice product life for something that has a lifetime warranty but last only 9 years. Anybody else have this problem. I will never deal with Delta again.

jslazart, The house is built in 1908 craftsman style home and not sure what year of this bathtub was made. ( guessing 70 -/+ ) The wall on near round corner tub will be taken off, "L" sahpe curtain rod order is placed already thinking I'm keeping the tub until I ran into this "off level" issue with my new leveler purchase :) Debbie, Thanks for the encouragement, I'm easily pursuable when it comes keeping the old charm intact, but with a reasonable approach. I just want to hear pro's opinion on if these two issues are bad enough to justify new tub replacement. On add on flange, I've gone to tile special forum called John bridge ( thanks to fellow houzzer member who'd mentioned it), and most census are it's better than nothing but not by very much. and mostly those kit for acrylic , ( guess they use special adhesive that make "scratch" on acrylic to adhere. but not on a cast iron) Either with new tub or keeping the tub, this off door trim issue is not going to be resolved unless I re configure whole bathroom which is my last last last resort, I'm leaning toward let's demo adjoining walls and floor and if there's way that my contractor can shim the corner of the tub. Instead of ordering the tub in advance, I'll see how the demo will unveil. As far as drain, no probluem at all, while wall tile being opened, I'm replacing showerhead, valve to match new faucet as well as toilet and vanity. On choosing a contractor, I'm in los angeles where the construction boom has been happening for few years in a row, quite a challnge to find a good one, my strategy to choose middle of the road, hopefully wouldn't do harm.
