Help choosing backsplash to warm up space?
Comments (8)Buy some geraniums, put your cooksbooks into the shelf, make those romans, and live with the kitchen for a while. Then...go to the store and don't rush through--I assume you want a tile backsplash. Really stand in front of each display and mentally live in the room decorated with each choice. You will find something unexpected. Also don't be afraid of paint. Even a colorphobe can repaint. You did choose something safe but safe may prove to not be as suitable as you might have thought. Paint is pretty cheap to change out. (Chicken? Consider painting a section of wall, a stripe, a furniture piece.)...See MoreWall art to warm up my bedroom?
Comments (17)You could consider adding 70s heavy texture to the bed instead of macrame to the walls. Think Anthropologie levels of texture. You won't need alot, say one long lumbar,2 coral velvet, and a throw. Then a couple more soft coral accents (Pantone's new colour of the year) and a tiny bit of Yves Klein Blue. These small additions would make a large impact in your mostly neutral space and not let your headboard boss 'em. Basically, a palette like this work done by Lola Donaghue over at etsy. https://www.etsy.com/listing/244405243/abstract-print-large-giclee-print-beige?ref=shop_home_active_42...See MoreHow to warm up a space?

Comments (6)The problem in your room is the terrible quality of like from that fan light. Turn it off and NEVER TURN IN ON AGAIN. I would take advantage of the lamps you have on your mantel and the piano. See if there is space for a small floor lamp next to the leather chair in the corner. Consider fishing the electrical cord under the rug to activate small floor lamps that can be placed next to your sofa. This floor lamp slides under the edge of seating to be very minimal in the room. https://www.crateandbarrel.com/clare-antiqued-bronze-floor-lamp/s406236 Replace the fan with a ceiling fixture. Consider changing the color of your rug on the floor....See MoreJamila Daggs
