Railing style for midcentury "prairie style" house

Is this deck railing an asset or a liability?

I'm renovating to sell, trying to stay true to the original 1960 "prairie style" architecture, mixed with a "midcentury modern". If I change railings it would be to horizontal, but with a width/pattern different from the (10 x 2") siding. Last 2 photos are styles I'm considering. It's a corner house on a busy street where privacy and security (incl. UPS package theft) is a concern.

Either way, I'll clean up the lines by removing ornate post caps, rounded planter (on railing), and lattice at deck skirt. I'll also update front porch railing, and do opaque stain on all wood (so old wood matches new). Roof is being replaced, whole house painted...not sure of colors.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
